NaNiwa's autism is NaNiwa's autism. the "people you know" are not going to act like NaNiwa. because they are not NaNiwa.
NaNiwa does not have classic autism, so he is not going to act like the 2 classically autistic people that you know. NaNiwa probably has high functioning autism or aspergers syndrome.
you're right. having autism is no excuse to be rude to people. but look at it this way. an ordinary person can casually say "gg" whether they mean it or not. to NaNiwa it literally means "that was a good game. the game is balanced. the game is fun. you outsmarted me. you you are a better player than me. thank you for defeating me". it is loaded with more meaning for NaNiwa because he takes things literally. from the drama-whore perspective, NaNiwa is an ass because he didn't fulfil some meaningless video-game etiquette. from the NaNiwa perspective, he's just being logical and honest. he thinks he is not inferior to Happy, the game is not balanced and the game is not fun, so he is not compelled to type "gg".

As someone with an autism-spectrum disorder, I'd just like to make this very simple:
You are not a mental health professional who has examined him.
You do not get to diagnose him with anything.
Period.

That's exactly the kind of crap why esports does not get taken seriously for the most part. Etiquette is meaningful. It shows that you are an e-sportsman. For as long as little kiddies filled with too many hormones are our poster childs, for that long the scene will be mostly seen as some immature pile of crap not to be taken seriously by most people over 25.
In Korea they have understood that a long time ago. How many drama-queens are there in the Korean scene? Does Innovation ever not gg? Has Jaedong built a carreer on being an asshole? No and that's why in Korea there is e-sports with sponsored teams and national television and massive exposure. Kespa rulings might be overly harsh, but they are efficient. That's what the western scene needs. And our poster boys should be TLO, Grubby, Snute and Bunny. Our badasses should be the Stephanos and qxcs. And the Naniwa's should just be banned from all competition. Throwing Kas out of that tournament for his shit tweet was a real gem.
And by the way, drama like Naniwa initiated on Happy does affect a players mind and is should be punished, just like you are not allowed to talk shit to your opponents in the half-time of any other sport.

no, I have not met NaNiwa. but it is easy to deduct the reasons why he does not say "gg". I am on the spectrum, live with a person on the spectrum, work with people on the spectrum and socialize with people on the spectrum. the way NaNiwa behaves is textbook stuff. he probably does not say "gg" for the same reason autistic people do not say "how are you?" --- an inability to appreciate the usual context of "gg" (genuinely enjoying the game vs meaningless ceremonial small-talk) and an inability to see the bigger picture of "gg" (being polite vs being polite for the sake of being polite)

I am a medical school student here in the US and from what I have seen of naniwa I can confirm he seems to have Asperger syndrome.
Be mindful people with Asperger's can be highly functional, like naniwa.

Seriously, everyone, stop trying to online-diagnose Naniwa. This is pointless. He qualified for WCS whether you like it or not, and yeah he was BM on the way, but you should be used to it by now.

as someone who is also on the autism-spectrum, autism is not a mental illness so why would I need to be a mental health professional? . autism can be identified by a casual observer. it does not require a PHD or a certification. do you know that most autism diagnosis come as a result of unqualified parents and teachers making some basic observations about a person's behavior?

Exactly. I'm not a fan and I hope he does. How can it not be good to have competitive foreigners? People are always complaining about it.

Naniwa's PvT looked like the best in Europe. It's been a while since I've seen someone take a PvT game like vs Happy game one.
My favorite thing is for the brief minute when it looked like he might have a stable 4-5 base income and be maxed, he started making Stargate tech.
But he didn't stick to it after they traded armies and he then continued to focus on stalker collusus.

So besides Lillekanin vs Minato obviously, which VODs are worth looking up?
