It's almost kespa vs kespa In fact, only 9 notable dropeoff ESF players: Ganzi, Hope, Shine, Sniper, Terror, Brown, JKS, AnNyeong, Eve, Among which, only Ganzi, Hope Shine Sniper Brown really had a shot even before Kespa turnover. There aren't THAT many ESF players outside of Korea. Only ones that come to mind are the Axiom guys, Violet and Mvp. I guess there's also a few totally washed up players like Nestea and MC but they are mostly inferior to everyone who qualified today. So basically there are far more active KESPA players than ESF. Pretty sure someone has actually counted and said the numbers are roughly the same. Im pretty sure it's not. Just look at the code B attendants. The number are highly favor in kespa. About 2 to 3 times more. I think the counting u mentioned includes those semi-pro players listed in ESF team which doesn't even attend code B matches.

So sad TY didn't make it, if there's one player that deserves to be in WCSKR and isn't in, I think it's him. But he was way too greedy so I guess he wasn't up for the circumstances.
Really happy for Seed and Jjjjjajjjjji, also glad for Sniper not making it, heh.

GSL and GSTL was the only tournament and event that I followed religiously. I kept up with all the teams, knew who to look out for in the qualifiers from watching GSTL and was emotionally invested in everything from Code S down to Code B. Now it's muddled with guys like Mamuri and Pigbaby, guys I have never heard about and will never care about.
It has nothing to do with Kespa vs. ESF for me, cause like I said I enjoy watching their star players and Rain's games from last fall motivated me to start playing again. Code S groups like Maru, soO, sOs and Effort mean nothing to me and I have no reason to stay up late to watch it, or pay a subscription fee to watch a vod.
Knew this would happen. Once KeSPA players started to dominate, there will be less total number of fans, cause old sc2 fans will stop follow the scene when their favorite players lose all the time, and there are not many new fans coming in because this is actually an old game already. Old BW fans won't switch much, cause they are already old, have a life, and not fond of SC2 anyway.

And then there will be the new fans, who don't care about Kespa or Esf, just SC2. I'll probably still be an LR OP by then lol

I'm pretty sure people like him are an extreme minority, our viewer numbers are bigger than ever before.

I used to not know them. Then I took five minutes of my time to actually go look at some proleague and matches, and now I know them. See how hard it is? Just because they're new to you doesn't mean you're forced to stay behind.
About Azubu, San and Top are playing in the Taiwan thing, there has got to be date conflicts. Ganzi tried, Symbol and Supernova are in, Sleep qualified... I don't know where BBoong is though.

Proleague VODs are freely available on youtube (ESportsTV), in English and organized by playlist. It's actually easier to follow storylines for Kespa players because Proleague matches happen so frequently. If you like watching Rain, Flash, and Innovation, they play every week in Proleague as team aces and sometimes get sniped by those mid tier players. It's probably my favorite league to watch outside of GSL/OSL.

Parting, MVP, and Life are still the ones winning everything though....
Bomber still being Bomber
MC and MMA ruling foreign scene
Lots of ESF representation.
What's missing is foreigner presence and foreigner hope.
Because when players like MKP, Seed, Maru are the mid level players of the world--what hope does WhiteRa, Dimaga, etc... have?
And when so few Koreans flew overseas, it was a treat. Now Europe has to beat MVP--and despite him being in such a bad shape, he still wrecks.
Stephano retires, Greg retires, Naniwa loses consistency, Huk stops producing. We now lean on TLO?

I know, I was just saying that I believe the loss of fans is the loss of foreign hope, not the loss of ESF hope.
