I heard of those players ofcourse, but since they have not proven themselves in any major tournaments yet, i decided to exclude them.
On another note, i noticed that the mouz players have the MouzCC tag in their names. I did not notice this before the red bull lan, is there any sponsorship/partnership that happened?

Yes, CardCoaches. They haven't been sponsored by them for long, but I don't know since when exactly.
|
It's a sponsorship they got like 1,5 weeks ago I think, because at that time all of them changes names

So the cool new build HasuObs is stress-testing is... yet another 2 base PvZ all in? -.-
His played just looked so outdated tbh, poor upgrades, air lots of gateways into colossus on 2bases.

LOL Ret's not American, if that's what the flag was for.
|

USA USA :D
Ret seems to have gone to the US completely :D

No 2 base but maybe probe rush?
jk jk jk
Naniwa fightning!

OMG Day9 trying to steal Ret from us! DARN YOU!

Ret's mom is an economics teacher, I guess that explains his macro style.

I don't watch at the moment, but the OP says his challenge is a PvP build, not a PvZ build.

so, someone is clearly using the microwave during ret's interview

Oh, i read it too quickly. Still, looks like he needs some PvZ practice as well :p

Ret has an r/starcraft patch on his TL shirt?
|
give me naniwa's games, give me death!
|
There is only more competition in the foreigner scene at the top because of the overlap.

Ret v NaNi, then SaSe, then Parting? Does red bull not want me to go to sleep?
...Well i guess that's what red bull does to you eh ;o
|
wow Ret - Naniwa. Let the fun begin :D

I love that he builds 3 robo's to build just 6 colossus and then stops.

wow, naniwa is looking incredibly strong in this game!

That's not enough carriers to do anything :/
|
lol more carriers than corrupters
|
This is a really nice game. Enjoying it.
|
you can auto-build interceptors!? :O cool haha
|
RBL really supplying some quality games so far, fucking amazing event.
|
I doubt Naniwa doesn't know about auto-building interceptors - more like, he likes to control the amount of resources spent on that.
|
lol... there Ret´s game went down the toilet

4 corrupters incoming >_>

Wow. I'm glad I switched streams. <3 carriers.

He wants to make them manually probably..when you have 6+carriers constantly building interceptors in a late late game situation you might run out of minerals to warp in zealots at the wrong time.

I just started watching a few minutes ago, but I'm confused. It just said Ret's challenge was to find a good way to transition from Roach/Hydra into Broodlords, yet he is just going Zergling/Infestor... Or did I miss something?

Don't know why Day9 was saying Ret should chill, Nani had less stalkers than Ret had broodlords. Too many zealots left over.

that was amazing play by ret.

This is really fun to watch pros practice strategies they are unfamiliar/uncomfortable with. I always think that pros utilize every builds, but this event disproves that. Good two games with Ret and Naniwa so far!

From a cynical perspective it feels like this is an event designed to attract the viewercounts of a tournament without having to pay the players with prizepools.

This is sooo damn similar to the situation we had Grubby vs Stephano(in the lone star clash), the main difference being t hat Ret not doing what Stephano successfully managed vs Grubby, doing tons of damage and cancelling the third of parting, and Grubby not doing what Parting did, denying the fourth with VR, successfully managing to get up the 3rd vs Ret ^_^

No, a lot of men start losing their hair in their earlier 20s or even late teens. My brother started losing his hair when he was 18, and I started losing mine when I was 24. He's still struggling with it and refusing to cut it properly so his head looks like a fuzzy donut, I just embraced it and shaved my head.
Edit: Should mention, in our case it's not even heriditary. I say brother but we're actually foster brothers.

Yeah but only on stage, or I mean the interview before he seemed really relax but at the stage he was shaking the microphone like crazy. Interesting considering Day[9] said he had like 700 tournament matches and considering the fact he had competed and traveled in so many countries.
|
Ive never seen hasu this nervous before Oo
|
Although Hasu speaks pretty good english, it is not his first language, keep that in mind. But as far as i remember he never has nerve issues when he plays, because he played sooo much in front of big crowds.
I'm quite interested to see how that build is gonna work out!

Djwheat + day9 is such a good pair lol

Is there anything to win in these challenges? Also, does the opponent know the build Hasuobs will be doing?

Hair or no hair - this guy is indeed an esport legend (at least in germany) and a damn good player,on top of that pretty mannered. HASU FIGHTING!

Making an recorded interview or a live interview infront of a huge crowd + several thousand online is a bit different.

I mean Sase did pretty well with FF etc. but he should never been able to get up that ramp. Hasu had such a huge advantage, harassed nicely with the blink, microed nicely, got the expo up + probe production. If Sase had a Collo it would have been pretty clear he was able to get up that ramp and was in a nice position to win, but just with gateway immo... not sure. Only thing that was good for Sase was the higher Immo count which showed when he raped the stalkers with it.

What map was the first game of Hasu vs SaSe and who won?

Wow i didn't realize that Hasuobs PvP was hurting that bad. 2-8 in his last 10 tournament games

Antiga, Hasu does blink challenge and Sase went robo tech - without collo because hasu managed to kick is robo facility once. Hasu got expo up and was in a nice position, but then let Sase get up the ramp and the superior immo count/unit control in that fight won Sase the game righ there. After that Sase got expo up himself and was too much ahead.
|
this basetrade wouldve been close as fuck if sase wouldnt have forgotten his stalkers down there :D probably wouldve won sase the game, but very very close.
nice decision in the end by hasu there

having 2 base 30 minute base trade games is not the best for practice o,o

It's so interesting to hear, what Hasu thinks about his games and what impact some little decision or timings have on your game. Hope to see more events like this. Day9 should bring back friend day wednesday and do these kinds of interviews every week. I would like that very much

I had an amazing time at the LAN, Got to meet Hasu and Sean. For some reason, NaNiwa is hard to meet. As soon as the event was over he was gone.
I highly suggest to anyone in the Orlando area to make it out tomorrow to the tournament.

I don't really know where to post that, i don' think it deserves its own thread but it should be mentioned in the threads related to the redbull LAN :
Chaleo Yoovidhyan, the founder of RedBull, has passed this weekend at age 89. Red Bull are sponsoring lots of amasing teams and events, the old thai billionaire was probably not aware of it all but without him it wouldn't be possible. R.I.P !
