It would become too complicated to assign arbitrary sub-points for each win taken off a player with a losing record and a player with a winning record in that round robin. It would also become too tie-prone if who beat who no longer mattered. There would be too many variables, it would take too long to calculate, and there would most likely be less consistency with the format. While some level of a player's fate may be left in the hands of other players (although if HuK won all his matches, there is zero chance of it being left up to other players' games), this is simple and easy to understand and run. At the moment, it seems to be the best format, which is why most tournaments use it.

Tonight's matches went five hours. Doing a tiebreak that can end in a tie and go into yet another tiebreak can add a lot more time. Using head-to-head to decide a tie is perfectly reasonable -- if you don't like it, that's fine, but what do you really want them to do? This is pretty common in a lot of sports.

Yes, he did well today, and deservedly won a code S spot, but we who feel this way should be allowed to feel disappointed without being accused of belittling his skill. While head-to-head as a tiebreaker is conventient and efficient, I feel it's an open question whether or not it's a good one, statistically speaking.

He wasn't baby fed free spots into Code A and Up and Downs. Don't know why people are so hell bent on wanting Huk in Code S, he'd easily be the worst player in it, along with Nani. As it stands this is the most stacked Code S we've ever had, should be a great season.

You are allowed to feel disappointed, but no one cares about your feelings. Just because these people mean nothing to you (a random observer watching from Switzerland who is too lazy to learn about the Korean scene) doesn't mean you're justified in feeling anything. The guy who got first played better than everyone else in the group, and he deserves to advance. By all accounts he was an underdog as well; let him enjoy his success.

I can list off dozens of names, maybe even hundreds. But Virus has no personality to me - he just seems like a mediocre faceless Korean Terran, not near the top of the heap but not bad enough to become infamous like TheBest (although apparently TheBest is really solid now).

It's unfortunate his track record isn't that great in the GSL, although he's been working his ass off in Korea ![]()

Personality in the SC2 community is relative. Most of it is just a combination of exposure and community projection. I find his reaction pig-headed. Nevermind the fact that most people don't have a personal connection to Virus because he doesn't have a "story"; if this is the case then you really wouldn't care whether he wins or not. But to feel disappointed because he won the group, say that your disappointment has nothing to do with his skill level, then do a badly veiled criticism of his skill level? Any normal person would call you out on that hypocrisy.

I feel exactly like you do SeaSwift, you are not alone! ![]() By the way, am I the only one to be offended by GomTV not changing the schedule? In my opinion they should have switched the last 2 games. In this case, fOrGG was already done with hsi group. What if he would have played a good friend/brother or something similiar? Don't you think that knowing he is through affects his mental state and his play a lot? While I do accept that HuK is out, things like this shouldn't happen in the future because of it's potential abuse. Just switch the game and everything is fine ![]()

I was just calling you out on telling him off for being "too lazy to learn about the Korean scene".
