There're a lot of great korean players who only have GSL as a source of income and their progaming carreers depend on being able to mantain a spot in code S/A . Most of the foreigners who are being seeded are in a pretty stable economic situation and they have the support from their teams to compete in any other tournament. While being stuck in the qualifiers is probably not going to be a big deal for players like Huk or Naniwa, and if they're good enough they are going to qualify eventually, if a korean player with no source of income is stuck for 3 or 4 season it can have a really big impact on his careers and force them to quit progaming. GOM TV made the point that the foreign seeds are similar to the regional grouping that lets Korea participate in the World Cup just by beating other Asian teams, without proving its worth over more talented teams from Europe and South America.

Combine that with the fact that there are constantly new Korean stars popping up and waiting for a shot in the GSL. Not once since the code A/S split has any foreigner qualified for it. I suppose so but very few foreigners are of the caliber to make it through the qualifiers. Even then I believe there are other ways to get into Code A though weekly tournaments and such. Also I'm not sure how you would justify picking which player who "grinded through the Code A qualifier and had a good run through code A" all the players who had good runs are already in Code S or up and downs as you only need to make it pass the first round of Code A to make it to Up and downs. HuK's been though the Code A qualifier + took second in a tough tournament. I just don't how he didn't deserve it or at least was one of the players that deserved it :\

You just don't get into so many code S seasons without at least being a consistent solid player. He just suffers from a lack of exposure. If he joined more tournaments, he could have showed even more great macro games. He played great macro games today as well, out manoeuvring fOrGG in a TvT and doing some pretty sweet banshee harass on Huk. He certainly deserves his code S spot.

Code S was starting to look evened up at bit 10 / 10 / 6 P, T, Z respectively. If only we could find a few more zergs for the future but now it's 10 / 14 / 6... I just hope the zergs last out like DRG did so we don't have all T & P in the late rounds Just like not every unit has to be playable all the time neither has Code S to be an distribution between the races. Have you ever even thought about the possibility that there are more good players in Korea with Terran and left imbalance aside? There are a lot of Protoss and Zerg rising that did show its possible to beat Terrans... In Broodwar you had seasons dominated by Zerg, by Protoss and then by Terran. Obviously in Broodwar is was a bit more map - dependant but still. Why does it always have to be evened up with races? 10 / 14 / 6 P T Z isn't too bad either.

Sure he has all-ined quite a fair bit in the past but the people who are shitting oh him probably cheer for foreign players like dimaga, whitera among many others. IMO, if virus played them, he probably have a winning record over 7 games or something. You just don't get into so many code S seasons without at least being a consistent solid player. People are not shitting on Virus cause of his all-ins it's cause he won and Huk isn't in Code S.

Leenock/Nestea/DRG/Curious are all potential title contenders. We can't blame having too many terrans too. The terrans all played really well and deserved their spot. Its certainly way better than GomTvT a while back.

And Polt should get kicked out of Code S too cause fuck em he doesn't deserve it either right? the furthest huk has ever made it was ro16..once..where he went 0-2..and he feel to the up/downs every season he was in code S.
