Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't. |

As i said im sick of how i get threated .. i can take visa like NO PROBLEM , u didnt even bother to ask me or tell me about the visa , u only told me about the visa after i asked if im invited .. thats just pathetic and desgusting , when i have apply for the NASL u could have told me about the visa and by now i would already have had apply for it and take it . Romania is part of the european nations and so i would have not even 1 problem in taking the visa . Very profesional tho very... and the answer is even more profesional .. If this is true then it's very unprofessional and unfair. From the limited amount of information I have on Xeris, the way he acts and handles things are pretty unprofessional (that team league, inviting players into NASL) I already told you NightEnD, that the reason we didn't select you is because you didn't already have one, and there are concerns about countries that don't have a visa waiver program. Just because Romania is in the EU does not mean they have a visa waiver program. Romania doesn't; they might soon, but as of right now they don't. I talked to you specifically about this and explained why. You were on the backup list of players, but we didn't end up needing any backups. When i asked u if im invited you told me that im not becouse u didnt know i can take a visa .. 1st Why u didnt told me that i need a visa when i have apply for nasl so i could have apply for one and SHOW U ? ??????? 2nd How did u know that i dont have visa when u didnt even bother to ask me if i have visa or not or if i can take one or not? ur telling me u assumed that i cant take a visa wich is just so so so pathetic
No need to dig a hole for yourself. There's going to be at least two more opportunities to play in this league.

Umm it's kinda obvious why Xeris didn't put the reason why they invited Incontrol in his explanation. Sadly cause there is no explanation. one of the choices based on nepotism. I mean his face base is from only his personality. without sotg, incontrol would have barely any fans cause he has not impressed anyone with his play, however, grubby's fame has come with warcraft 3 and artosis actually made it into the GSL. MoMan made it the finals of a cup recently. Minigun is 10x the protoss player Incontrol is and has no RTS experience. hes a fucking prodigy. ya i am a fanboy but look at his stream and his results in tournaments. Hes pretty amazing for not having played any brood war or wc3...
whatever, at least Xeris's explanation was professional but i wish next time he had included the explanations ALONG with the invites so there wouldnt be so much grey space.
sad to see nightend not be in it or thorzain, two players who showed they can be on Par with Korean players. sad to see that Supernova or Inca or Top were not chosen over Ensnare.

Yea cos Cruncher and Grubby are better than Boxer, right? XD

Really baffles be how they just assumed that DeMuslim wouldn't be able to play instead of contacting him regarding his injury. He is one of the most qualified European Terrans, and the only applicant from the UK. A shame that he didn't get an invite.

He consistantly plays well in MLG and he doesn't just hang in there with the big dogs, he runs with them. He is a strong member of EG and is a threat to win something at any time.
He has a huge fanbase, his stream is incredibly popular and he has a big following from state of the game. He loves meeting people at every tournament he is in and will bring a lot of viewers in for his games. Since he is also the caster his games will be really popular.
Also, people don't understand that he really is no slouch. You can garuntee that Incontrol is going to take playing in the NASL extremely seriously and work really hard at it. Never underestimate the power of motivation.
Do you really think the players that have not been included over him would not take it extremely seriously and work hard too? They're 'no slouch's too'. They've won things for a start.

It's not like the snubbed players can't get into the playoffs. Granted there's only one spot through the open tournament but top 8 automatically get into next season. I feel like Demuslim, Lz, Nightend, Dimaga, etc could make quite a run at that 1 spot and qualify for next season.

Good post Xeris. Even if people don't entirely agree, I think everyone has to be satisfied with the thoroughness of the process. Going to be a great tourney!

lol, Boxer can beat half of that list without much doubt.

How is this pathetic? he's a player living off this game and has Proven to be VERY GOOD compared to other players that gotten accepted in the league, shown in many tournaments in Europe and the TSL. Obviously he wants to fight for himself. I have even more respect for nightend now. keep fighting nightend, this is your career and sadly it hurts that a player like u that has the merit wasn't chosen based on something that could have been talked with earlier

It seems much like the lineup of GSL, but with inferior players such as incontrol etc added in, heh. I also watch the GSL, but having another tournament is always a good thing. It sounds like you were hoping for the GSL, only with a different title. This is the NASL, if all the same players were in this one, why bother? This is a diverse group of players and I think we'll see a large variety of strategies. Also, it airs at a much more sane time for me, so that's also a plus. You can quote just by clicking on the word "quote" in the top right of my post btw. It's easier than typing @MemorizedName and it lets other people have context for your response, especially if a page or two has passed. No I didn't want a duplicate of the GSL, I just wanted the best players which sadly I think invitation system and other protocols has already compromised. For as much as incontrol bitched on sotg about other tournaments formats the NASL... you know? There is quite a few players that maybe I want to see play, but who are not the best (artosis, grubby) and also some players who I don't want to see or think deserve to play (incontrol).

Funny guy who catches a lot of flak and dishes it out just as well. But this was a poor choice.
You see, there is 50 players invited. Obviously some will be better than the others. You are saying that because iNc accepted to cast, he shouldn't be allowed to play?
Maybe they are better players out there, who knows? Fact is, those players didn't apply to the rules. If you are still convinced that NASL is biaised, why is LzGamer not in?

Disappointed in the picks, could be so much better. Seems like they were too stressed to talk to the players (Demuslim lol...) and too hung up on deadlines to include 2 top 10 foreigners into their league.
But I will still watch of course, hope some of the percieved worse players prove me wrong. GL

oh shii just saw the final five that was added and with the rest of the players in here it's gonna be friggin awesome to see how this unfolds especially considering results in the TSL and GSL WC kor vs the world. Cant wait for this to start. April cant come soon enough!

So just to clarify, only the Final 16 are being played live from Los Angeles? Does that mean that all other games will be streamed in the format of an online tournament? And if so, it will be played on the NA server?
|
Unfortunately there aren't exactly 50 best players our there, nor is there an objective basis for choosing players. I'm afraid people are giving NASL slack for being transparent and creative - they clearly explained that they would look at more than skill (which I think might make for a better league) and they stated their thinking. We might not agree with every bit of their reasoning, but at least they didn't hide it.
But to everyone who wasn't or whose hero wasn't chosen, provided NASL doesn't go bust, the selection process shall become purely skill-based, so the best players will come and replace weaker players. GL.
