[NASL] Players (final) - Page 170
Forum Index > StarCraft 2 Tournaments |
Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't.

Incontroll etc will probably drop out after season 1, or prove us wrong so its win win either way. Should be a good tourney. MC to win it!

Funny guy who catches a lot of flak and dishes it out just as well. But this was a poor choice.

I want to know too. I know that some Tsl players (fd's app incomplete though), most of the startale and ogs players and some slayers players made application videos. A lot of these people have had good results in the GSL and/or GSTL, which are the biggest sc2 tournaments with the highest levels of skill. So, based on the "results results results" mantra of NASL, shouldn't they be invited? Or was it because, like in Fruitdealer's case, their application was incomplete or late?

I can understand their concerns with Ben but cant believe they didn't actually talk to him about it especially since he is on EG. I really feel for Nightend too he got shafted after he qualified for the Blizzard invitational region finals back in his warcraft 3 days because apparently Romania was ineligible. So I understand his frustration.

Sad that Dimaga did not apply on time, because after the games last night he is one of my new favorite players, playing that crazy macro game against MvP on that new GSL map(which got a dc, in my opinion for the better because putting an end to such a game would have been very anti-climactic), and before that playing such a close ZvZ vS july, amassing.

I also watch the GSL, but having another tournament is always a good thing. It sounds like you were hoping for the GSL, only with a different title. This is the NASL, if all the same players were in this one, why bother? This is a diverse group of players and I think we'll see a large variety of strategies. Also, it airs at a much more sane time for me, so that's also a plus. You can quote just by clicking on the word "quote" in the top right of my post btw. It's easier than typing @MemorizedName and it lets other people have context for your response, especially if a page or two has passed.

Sometimes it is necessary to cut corners in order to get to your goal, and in this situation it seems to have resulted in players not being treated equally. Most importantly, players from eastern europe seem to have applied under false pretense - not informed of what was required for a full application to be accepted. NASL made a decision due to expediency. It would show class to admit that the consequences of that decision )and the lack of communication) cost some players the opportunity to participate with no fault of their own. *Having said that, it was obviously a big (and appreciated) effort to summarize the selection process. Thanks!

Might have just been they didn't want more than 10 koreans in the NASL. I mean, the spread from region to region is pretty damn good... and well, taking out a tonne of players from NA/EU for KR players would defeat the purpose of this league IMHO. Would just be GSL 2.

I hope the production quality is good, and not like the promovideo at nasl.tv (production for TSL3 is just great!) To all the playerpool-whiners: Stop hatin'! Now the only thing that remains to be revealed is the schedule. Can't wait! ![]()

He consistantly plays well in MLG and he doesn't just hang in there with the big dogs, he runs with them. He is a strong member of EG and is a threat to win something at any time. He has a huge fanbase, his stream is incredibly popular and he has a big following from state of the game. He loves meeting people at every tournament he is in and will bring a lot of viewers in for his games. Since he is also the caster his games will be really popular. Also, people don't understand that he really is no slouch. You can garuntee that Incontrol is going to take playing in the NASL extremely seriously and work really hard at it. Never underestimate the power of motivation.

I'm going to say it right now, its 100% you or your managers fault. 1) Did you not get in because of the application process? Why is this your fault? Because YOU or YOUR manager did NOT ask questions. It is NOT the NASL's responsibility for YOU to get in your correct application and any other doccumentation. Just like ANY OTHER JOB EVER, you have to be prepared. If they ask you for something, and you don't already have it... well too bad, its your fault. With the NASL, you KNEW you would have to fly to the USA to play games for money if you were in the top 16... So guess what that means, YOU KNEW YOU NEEDED A VISA. Why did you not just go get one? I mean the NASL isn't going to hold your hand, there were over 100 applications, over 100 other people to pick from. 2) Did you not get in because of your application video? Well, thats 100% your fault to. You application video was like a job application, it showed who you were. Any weaknesses you showed, would reflect poorly on them choosing you. Any video should of shown your strengths (look at Tyler and MoMaN being able to insite the croud through a video) and play down your weaknesses (DeMuSliM's Cast). If you didn't sell your self well enough... then you should of made a better video. 3) Did you not get in because of your resent showings in tournaments? Well... this means you need to practice more and win more. NASL wanted the best players they could get. There are TONNES of online tournaments to play in to show your skills and guess what... ViBe and dde got in because of these tournaments. Maybe you should of played some of them instead of continuously losing vs big names in big tournaments that don't happen every day. - - - - These were the three reasons people didn't get in, and every one of them was the player or manager's fault. You can get angry at the NASL but it will do nothing. They aren't here to hold your hand, just like if you don't get a job because you messed up the interview or application process... its the same thing here, so stop QQ'ing. (this is directed at players and fans a like, and was not meant to single out players, even though it does... and I apologize for being slightly rude, but I needed to get my points across. You are much more talented at SC2 than I am, but you made a mistake, so just man up.) 1) You throw out a lot of wild speculations here. Why would NASL have reasons to doubt Nightend being able to get a visa for one? Unless there is something we are being told that is quite a shady reason since the answer should be obvious. 2) I've been involved in looking through job applications and what people consider a good or bad job application varies heavily depending on who it is watching. Demuslims is well above the average if you look at the feedback he got from the fans. Wasn't that was what they were after? 3) There are players left out with more to show than Vibe and dde. Not sure what your point here was.
