[NASL] Players (final) - Page 173
Forum Index > StarCraft 2 Tournaments |
Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't.

You don't apply to become a commercial pilot without a pilots license, you don't apply to be an investment banker without your university transcript, you don't apply to etc, etc, etc... This should have been looked at like a job application. You bring everything you need with you, if you aren't sure if you need it, you contact the organization and ask. You will be passed over if you don't have everything ready when you get there. Its no different. He should have already had one, doesn't matter that they didn't tell him. He should of asked or assumed. 2) The point is that DeMusliM also showed a HUGE weakness, his arm still in a cast, infront of a hospital. This gives the image of a person who is not in 100% tip-top shape, and as such with show sub par matches. Its the same thing that If a woman sees a man in a suit vs. shorts and a t-shirt she is 60% more likely to be willing to go on a date with the guy simply due to them perceiving the guy as successful. Image is everything, DeMusliM did not show a good image of himself due to the cast. A simple explanation, or even removing the cast (which he can) would of most likely got him into the NASL due to a different image being shown during his application. 3) People are talking about LZGamer, and others who didn't get in but are Oh so good. But if you look, they don't compete as much as ViBe and dde do. Those two are continuously in those $100 online tournaments and place well every time. This shows the NASL that they can consistently place well. A lot of these other players have BIG tournament's they attend, but only a few of them (FXOpen, TL Open, MLG, IEM, DreamHack) but between those big tournaments there is very little. Players like ViBe and dde also played tonnes of online tournaments to fill in the gaps... others could of done the same thing to make them selves look better. - - - - What I'm saying is, the reason someone didn't get picked was that they didn't take the NASL seriously enough. You had to look at it like applying for a job, where you ask questions, you do your video as if you were in an interview being professional and trying to impress, and then you show them your qualifications (tournament wins and places) and well... some players failed in one or more of these respects and then their fans or the players QQ about them. I just didn't like to see it, they could of done something different. Its not like the NASL had a shortage of tallent to choose from... it was a competitive competition where some players put in TONNES of time into their video (MoMaN), others are legends (MC, Idra, July), etc... When you have to compete against these players that are equal in skill to you, you need to stand out somehow... and some of these players stood out in a negative fashion. please stop already, you keep making endless post filled with misinformation (but I have got to say that all the little examples you give are quite funny. and no, you dont get a visa ''just cause you are putting up an application'', but yes you do get a visa if the organisation tells you they need to be sure you can obtain one

Have you seen InControl play? He's actually pretty good. He'll probably have trouble against other Toss's but he can absolutely take games against the opponents in his division.

I know that some Tsl players (fd's app incomplete though), most of the startale and ogs players and some slayers players made application videos. A lot of these people have had good results in the GSL and/or GSTL, which are the biggest sc2 tournaments with the highest levels of skill. So, based on the "results results results" mantra of NASL, shouldn't they be invited? Or was it because, like in Fruitdealer's case, their application was incomplete or late? The Slayers team are most likely among the 30 people that applied too late, I remember Cella asking Huk abou the application process days after the deadline. Boxer sent in a seperate video application, so I'm assuming he was contacted.

It really hurts the legitimacy of the tournament. I mean imagine how big of a shitstorm there would be if NFL teams contracted their own referees and commentators. (FYI Xeris is also the manager of Fnatic)You see, there is 50 players invited. Obviously some will be better than the others. You are saying that because iNc accepted to cast, he shouldn't be allowed to play? I wouldn't mind any of this if NASL was clearly trying to be an amateur tournament. However they are trying to be professional, which means they will be judged by a higher standard.

If they dismiss the best uk player and one of the better terrans in Europe because of a freaking cast, they are morons. Sure it's an issue, but come on, they cold have spoken to him 5 minutes and they would have gotten their answer. His video was funny and one of the better ones in content, so just pointing to his cast as the single reason he didn't get in is ridiculous.
