Players such as Jinro, HuK, and Adelscott did not apply for this tour, so don't ask why they aren't on this list. DIMAGA, Kas, and LaLush turned applications in late so they will not appear either. Please take some time to learn who exactly applied. Please inform yourself about who applied and who didn't. |

I'd love to hear someone try to refute that Latency. And latency whining. There's enough people going on about how lag is ruining some of the TSL matches. Just having that question up in the air -- not knowing how much of a role lag played in an important match -- takes away from the excitement and enjoyment of the games. BTW, MoMaN is underrated by people who think he just got in because of his video. He's a strong player. Incontrol is underrated by his haters and overrated by his fans IMO. Don't know anything about how those other names you mentioned play. But just because someone is in GSL doesn't mean they're better than all non-GSL players.
No, but it is a very very good indicator. I'd give a GSL player favored odds against a non-GSL player all day.
Latency is also a lame cop-out. I bet MC and July could beat any of the names I listed above 90%+ of the time, regardless of latency from KR-NA (if it was KR-EU it might be a different story).

Idra has Tyler, Drewbie and Zenio in his group. I'm sure somewhere in this 126 page behemoth thats been discussed already, but it bears (bares?) repeating

+1... not enough koreans IMO.

I'm cheering for InCa, I'd love to see him get into the NASL. We almost never get to see him play minus him losing in the ro32 then winning his up and down matches.

Thank god a mod put the header about jinro, huk and adel. It seems like every other page had someone asking about 1 of the 3 if not more.

I would also really like to see Minigun invited. That way I can think of the StarWars cantina band every time he plays.
Hmm who else I would really like to see? BoxeR and Supernova would be obvious picks, but not sure beyond that. Maybe DeMusliM. I <3 Mondragon after this weekend, but I think they made their choices long before that. Plus I don't even remember if he applied.
EDIT: Thanks mod for the update on LaLush. I saw he was in the VOD thread so I assumed he got it in on time.

I think any Korean playing in the NASL should be required to play at the oGs-TL house, since it seems like it has the best connection. That way, we can even further reduce latency issues, as it seemed like NaDa and MC were able to play very well without lag problems during the TSL since they were playing from the oGs house.

Oh man nice new additions! A few koreans to spice it up. Good to see ret in there as well. My guess about MC, NesTea, SuperNova is that they want to focus on the GSL and didn't apply to the NASL. I am excited to see who the last 5 are. BoxeR? NaDa? MKP? My guess would be BoxeR and maybe another IM and SlayerS member. Looking sweet anyway!

3 ST players so far out of 5 koreans, Torch working his magic on the appllications lol

umm, but supernova and MC did apply. check the link at the top of the page... a lot of oGs guys applied. it's the IM guys that didn't really apply, hence no MVP or Nestea. Likewise no Jinro or Huk because they didn't apply either.

Most repeating in next months will be vs. Socke: MLG, NASL + HD World Tournament

Ret and a group of Koreans, pretty solid day! Eagerly waiting to see the final 5, these names will probably be the biggest, Boxer, MC, Nada more than likely.

well I think excluding Koreans Morrow and Demuslim should definitely be there and would like to also see Mondragon, Insolence or NightEnd. But if they get Morrow and Demuslim and some Koreans I think it will be pretty good representation of NA/EU/SEA top players plus selected Koreans. And after first season a lot of names that were missed can get in i think they are replacing like 8 or 16 players every season ?

I'd love to hear someone try to refute that Because this is the North American star league and they speak english? I dunno. Part of the NASL brands itself to being "the best of the best" but another part equally brands itself to having personality, relateable players and exciting rivalry/backstories. And those two parts directly oppose each other (for the most part). They need to decide which one it is, cause right now it's more so looking like the "personality/backstories/etc" part.
Obviously in a hype video they'll put in the statement "the best of the best", what the hell do you think they'd put? Have you not seen a marketing advertisement ever?? Why would they want to put "The somewhat good but not the best". Any company which markets a product will claim they have the best of the best....
As mentioned by many people before me, they are obviously going in a different direction than the GSL.. Its a north american star league, why would they want to fill that with Koreans? Why would they want an exact clone of the GSL? They are preaching to us that they want to revolutionize western e-sports. From what i can see so far, they want a tournament that supports the growth of western progamers. They want exciting backstories, rivalries and create a scene where everyone here can start to relate to even relatively unknown western progamers. They are helping these people build a brand for themselves in the community.. Sure there'll be a couple of Koreans mixed in so that the community will be hyped about upsets that are bound to come, but by and large, they want it to be comprised of a Foreigner progamer majority

Because when you sell something you always undersell and overdeliver. The other way around just results in disappointed customers.

People in the western hemisphere have brains too, and don't need to just blindly copy builds to get by. It'd be really nice to see people actually wanting to make esports a reality outside of korea, but the way a lot of people think is really discouraging and depressing.
Koreans are not invincible! -YET- why do I say YET? its simple, they are pulling ahead, not far ahead, just ahead. Because of events like GSL they can train a lot and have reachable goals that make it worth while for them to commit to the game. No one seems to complain that there isn't enough forgeiners in GSL, However, everyone likes complain and cry to make sure that Koreans are invited to events like TSL or NASL (NORTH AMERICAN STARLEAGUE).
I am not saying koreans should be just excluded from all international events, but the truth is, the only way to make esports successful is to create a competitive enviroment, where I am scared of playing KiWiKaKi not MC. Need our own 'stars' our own prizes and our own incentives on this side of the world. Need to create an enviroment where people aren't looking to move to korea, but instead move to this side of the map, like IdrA did.
There should be events like this one or WCG or many others where there are opportunities for people all over the world to face each other, but we need to create some sort of separation as an incentive to "foreigners" to train and improve in a similar enviroment as they have setup in korea.
You reading this are a 'foreigner'...but why are you the 'foreigner', is your brain less capable of producing quality strategy, are your hands too fat and slow by nature's default?
ffs lets stop being the foreigners.
Catz is so right about it. The most important thing is that we let e-sport grow in the west, we dont need to focus at the negative things. And we need something big to train and aim for in the west that is what matters...
