Yeah but thing is, Idra is stable player and he beat those not so good Koreans who qualified for GSL, and that is his power, that is what gained him CODE S, consistensy vs average Korean pros, vs any a litlle harder obstacle, he lose. so when actualy next season start, and he plays vs only top pros, i can see him relegated to CODE A quite soon. Not hating, just saying..

Jinro; you truly amaze me. Your play in G1 was so tight and solid- your idea of Sim City has truly become a masterpiece. Keep it up.
IdrA; I honestly wish you the best in the next GSL. Myself and probably more than 80% of TL was depressed when that timing attack happened in 3set

GSL has so many trash players who are still playing that it's pretty sad someone actually good like Idra is already out. GSL has a long way to go until the average level of players is actually good enough to argue they are ahead of top NA/EU players. Obviously S rank tournament will be better.

Really glad to see Jinro move on to round 16, gratz man, you deserved it.
I wonder why Moon is going for Zerg, when Protoss have the most spellcasting micro units in the game, why ain't he utilizing his huge micro advantage???
i could see him become a protoss god with HT, Sentries, and phoenix'.... why Zerg....

Where can I watch sets 2 without purchasing the ticket?

I'm super happy Chinro won. I've been cheering for this guy to do well for the longest time. It's great to see him doing so well this GSL.
IdrA losing is no surprise imo. He's great at beating no name scrubs, but put him up against someone half decent or better and he falls apart. IIRC, he went hatch first in ALL three games. How many have we seen lose going hatch first? Take a page out of July's book and play safer if you don't want to lose in the first 10 mins.
IdrA's play style is too one dimensional. Calling it now. He'll be one of the first players to lose his S Class rating next year.
|
Fruit always goes hatch first, I suppose he is a scrub too. I wouldn't use July as a sc2 zerg rolemodel; all he has done, so far, is lose or win against players who played awful. A reminder, July has been playing SC2 for AGES now, way before Nada for instance.

great thread, so many expert opinions!

This map pool is an absolute joke with the amount of luck involved in it. With the random draws for the map pool in GSL alongside the huge positional disadvantages on maps, it's almost like cheating players out of fair games. You can get a map like metalopolis then get absolutely screwed in ZvT if the positions are that close. There is literally no way for zerg to react on close positions because the distances are worse than steppes(joke of a map as that is).
I opened up the 3rd set of IdrA vs MVP, saw the positions and the time for the set and knew EXACTLY what happened minute to minute in my head. The map turns from a quality map to Blood Bath with the luck of a draw and proves why Blizzard shouldn't design another map as long as this game is out.
I feel really horrible for IdrA. He was flat out cheated on that third game after proving he belonged to be there.

TheBest could be good, it's just that he hasn't shown much so far.
The overall level of GSL games this season has been disappointing.

Seriously... those maps are so fkn stupid. Watching Idra play under this circumstances is just a pain in the ass.
Blistering sands/Steppes of War/Close position Metalopolis
1. Blistering: Even if I think, that idra lost because he played worse than MVP (terrible Muta control) you can see terran friendly points on the map, like around the watchtowers and the entrance to the gold. 2. Steppes Doesnt need much explanation, but u really have to give credit to Idra for taking of a game on Steppes, when he was several time nearly defeated if MVP just controlled his units slighty different (like 6 blueflame Hellions beeing somehow very angry with this one queen behind the Spines) 3. Meta Everyone was like "Finally a decent game" - Oh close position. Like another Steppes of War. Terrible over all...even on this generally regarded balanced map. In my eyes the map was purely decided by bad luck for Idra. Terrible game. Even Ironface Grack looked very frustrated.
Overall sooooo many games got decided by map imbalances that it really takes away the fun to watch the games in this Season. Getting a Ticket for the next Season wont be an option until they rework the Veto system or even better introduce good maps.

Aww.. the one i was cheering for each round lost : (

MVP's Ladder status last 2 weeks VS Terran 35wins 5loses (87.5%) VS Protoss 14wins 8loses (63.6%) VS Zerg 17wins 0loses (100%)
omg.. this guy is a beast... never seen status like that.

wow, seriously, so much QQ, you people have short memories
GSL 2 finals, game 7 - NesTea vs Foxer, close spawn on Metal, Nestea goes hatch first (with everything on the line) and holds it...it's by no means an unwinnable position
|
Big congratulations to Jinro. Mr. Frozen Arbiter is back!

Do you honestly think when people say close spawns heavily favor terran on metalopolis, they actually mean zerg has no chance to win? Because otherwise your anecdote is completely worthless.
ps. Foxer messed up
