So, how many American/Canadian take part in this tournament? Don't pull the numbers game, please. European tournaments have more EU players as well... LOL What? YOU pulled the numbers game with your "3/4" comment. And it's pretty normal that you have more NA players in the top 4 when there are more players of them in the tournament. Look through the bracket Azarkon.. None of the americans in the winner bracket top 4 has had to face europeans on their way there (except Painuser, but Nazgul hasn't really practiced as much as everyone else). Europeans has mostly knocked each other down to the loser bracket. edit: said machine instead of painuser. TT1 knocked TLO down to the LB as well. And this isn't an EU vs. NA contest. It's a statement about NA players. Even if NA players didn't knock out Socke or Ret, they did knock out the likes of Sen and SeleCT. I apologize, I forgot about TLO. You're right and I take back what I said, there are some very good NA players. I did misinterpret the whole intention of your posts. Just consider that it's pretty normal to have alot of one group of players high in a tournament format if ~90% of the tournament consists of that group. Considering, to have 5 non-NA players in the top 16 is a good feat.
Thanks, that's all I was trying to say. I agree there are very strong non-NA players. I think everyone admits that. I just felt like NA players are kind of like underdogs in many ways, especially the non-Idra ones. It's good to see some major upsets in some respects because it raises the profile of NA tournaments and participants. This is not just some "ezmode" for non-NA pros. This is top shape SC 2.

How many units do you expect the terran to have? just reducing the sizes to what I expect of 1 base(since 2 base, 3 base, 4 base is just extension of one base with quicker reproduction), HTs and zlots work well vs all those units(actually I'd expect the terran to mix a few ghosts in, when the HTs are out).
The terran doesn't have endless gas, on 4 base, he can produce around 1 thor/6banshees(per 60s), 2 thors/4banshee, 3thors/2banshees, 4 thors, 8 banshees. The toss can produce 5-6 HTs(per 60s).
Edit: I don't really understand all this "and not let thors soak up storms". You will be aiming at storming behind the thors, where the mm is hiding. I'm not saying thor&banshees are weak, god no, but they are rather decently counterable, even if storm doesn't make the terran want to commit suicide quite as badly as when he's playing MMM.

Why do you keep going on about Thors "soaking up the damage"? It's a nonsense statement. Do you actually think Thors somehow prevent other units from taking damage from storm because they are hit as well? I can only assume you do, from that comment, coupled with the "and you expect none of those storms to hit any thors at all" statement.
That's not how it works. If you storm 15 marines and a thor, it's better than if you just stormed the 15 marines. Very very marginally better, but still better. The thor doesn't soak up the damage.

I think it's outrageous that they don't have sound proof headphones for the featured matches which are commentated and on screen. It's very weak by MLG and they got alot of criticism for it in DC and still hasn't done anything about it.

What difference does it make if the thor gets hit by the storm as well? They don't "soak" damage away from other things. If a thor, 2 banshees, and 8 marines get hit by a storm then the marines and banshees still take just as much damage, the thor's presence doesn't somehow reduce the damage of the storm.

i somehow have a feeling that many players can hear what the casters said and use it for their advantage lol. seriously tho, if i were there i will just turn off my headset(best if there is a button) sneakily during the game.

They couldn't hear any words in DC. That's a myth.
They could hear that the crowd was chanting something (it was "SHOW THE GAME"), and HuK either thought they were yelling "MOTHERSHIP" or was joking that they were yelling that. The decision to actually mothership rush was entirely his, and the crowd gave it away when it finished because HuK was bantering with the audience via in-game chat and goading them to cheer for his Mothership blaze of glory play.
