thors soak up all the storm damage. kinda like the role ultras function in ultra/ling in sc1 zvp

Why even bother storming a Thor in the first place?

exactly. which is why going temps is useless against thor/banshee/marines

You aren't making any sense. Someone else confirm.
The statement "thors soak up all the storm damage" leads me to believe you think thors somehow prevent damages to surrounding units like some kind of shield. If a banshee is sitting right above a thor and you storm, both take damage. So unless the protoss is stupid enough to storm an isolated thor, I don't see how thors are "soaking" up damage.

And in brood war, you storm the lings unless there is only ultralisks left. Lone ultralisks don't function too well against a properly formed protoss ball. It works the same way in sc2 pvt

I really enjoy how the emphasis is more on macro than micro in the MLG. Sure, there's a lot of games ending within 15 minutes with micro-intensive battles, but if both players endure, then you get those longer 20min+ games we rarely see in the GSL. Take Jinro - Sockeh for example. What a great game that was.

On the flipside, it's fun to see how a great player like select does his marine micro, but still pales in comparison to the likes of foxer/mvp/boxer.

I wasn't that enthusiastic about the previous MLGs, but I'm really liking this one so far.
Bite off more than you can chew....then chew it.

I feel pathetic. I think the regame for Tyler is affecting me more than him. I don't know why I'm so upset that it happened, but it is really bothering me. I know MLG_Lee has clarified their position and asked for feedback, but I can't help but feel upset by this. I almost think I need to go watch Day[9]'s dealing with a loss to hear about the chemicals going on again. I guess it's a good sign I'm this invested in the events of MLG, but I'm kinda pissed at myself for feeling this strongly. Like I said, this is pathetic how I'm feeling. Anyone have words (good or bad) for me?

Go to bed, see you tomorrow.

If you don't follow any college/pro athletics, just talk to someone that does. What you're talking about is a pretty standard reaction for a fan who endures a tough loss. Maybe the regame affected him a lot, maybe it didn't. In either case, the games went late, like Tyler prefers, and he still lost. I think he'll still have a strong showing in the losers bracket and probably come away from this loss with a better understanding of his weaknesses.

All you gotta do is step back and see the bigger picture! For me, after Nada lost in OSL in 2007, I literally cried. But then I realised that I watched something that 99.9% of people are missing worldwide. And that somehow bucked me up. Couldnt handle Ivanesevic repeatedly losing Wimbledon finals too.

Didn't miss you man, good point. I told a lot of my friends to follow but I've got a feeling they missed these games. TLO and SelecT bringing the pain and Torch failing so hard yesterday have been good experiences. I should be glad to have seen all of this. Thanks for the response!

Wait, What? How can you argue temps are USELESS against thor/banshee/marine? Think about this for a second(unless your trolling). Obviously you are going to ignore storming the Thor but templar basically dominates banshees+marine. Feedback since Banshee energy usually is high will do tons of damage, plus storm rocks marines as usual. Zealots absolutely demolish the leftover Thors.

Don't pull the numbers game, please. European tournaments have more EU players as well...

LOL What? YOU pulled the numbers game with your "3/4" comment. And it's pretty normal that you have more NA players in the top 4 when there are more players of them in the tournament.

Look through the bracket Azarkon.. None of the americans in the winner bracket top 4 has had to face europeans on their way there (except Painuser, but Nazgul hasn't really practiced as much as everyone else). Europeans has mostly knocked each other down to the loser bracket.

edit: said machine instead of painuser.

TT1 knocked TLO down to the LB as well. And this isn't an EU vs. NA contest. It's a statement about NA players. Even if NA players didn't knock out Socke or Ret, they did knock out the likes of Sen and SeleCT.

I pretty much feel the same way... I've been rooting for NonY since forever, and it's basically the biggest SC2 event he really got himself into. Feels bad man.

But he's not too far from the finals in the loser brackets!

MLG's brackets are saying HuK beat qxc and is facing TLO next. Is it the other way around? Wasn't HuK knocked down to the Loser's Bracket a round before TLO though?
