Why even bother storming a Thor in the first place?

YOU pulled the numbers game with your "3/4" comment. And it's pretty normal that you have more NA players in the top 4 when there are more players of them in the tournament.
I said there was a lot of underestimated American/Canadian talent, partly in response to the people stating that "there's only Idra, and he's practically Korean" that you saw from some posters. You went in with the "oh but so many North Americans in the tournament" BS. Besides, numbers aren't everything. You could have a few hundred NA BW players in Korea playing in the MSL and they'd probably all be knocked out in the first two rounds.
Point is, NA players other than Idra and Huk are doing better than many people predicted they would.

exactly. which is why going temps is useless against thor/banshee/marines

Anyone else have all the bracket results vanish from the MLG site?

IdrA needs to understand that he is better than everyone playing straight up most games. So he's gotta think, yea, most of the people I'm going to face is going to cheese me at some point. He really needs to change his attitude about his ZvT and it is actually a dangerous matchup for him.
No, it's not.
Close positions, maps like delta, and cheeses are dangerous for him.
One is luck, one is veto'ed, and the last he is extremely good at handling.
When 95% of IdrA's opponents either cheese or 1/2-base all in, one will eventually beat him with it. IdrA is probably the pro player with the most cheeses against him in the WORLD.

Thors fire so slow that I don't think that is the main reason he get thors. I guess thors tank storm better and hit stalkers well.

Look through the bracket Azarkon.. None of the americans in the winner bracket top 4 has had to face europeans on their way there (except Painuser, but Nazgul hasn't really practiced as much as everyone else). Europeans has mostly knocked each other down to the loser bracket.
edit: said machine instead of painuser.

I'm still boggling over Tyler's switch to VR after he knew painuser had a bunch of vikings. Can anyone explain this?

I almost think I need to go watch Day[9]'s dealing with a loss to hear about the chemicals going on again. I guess it's a good sign I'm this invested in the events of MLG, but I'm kinda pissed at myself for feeling this strongly. Like I said, this is pathetic how I'm feeling. Anyone have words (good or bad) for me? Go to bed, see you tomorrow. If you don't follow any college/pro athletics, just talk to someone that does. What you're talking about is a pretty standard reaction for a fan who endures a tough loss. Maybe the regame affected him a lot, maybe it didn't. In either case, the games went late, like Tyler prefers, and he still lost. I think he'll still have a strong showing in the losers bracket and probably come away from this loss with a better understanding of his weaknesses. All you gotta do is step back and see the bigger picture! For me, after Nada lost in OSL in 2007, I literally cried. But then I realised that I watched something that 99.9% of people are missing worldwide. And that somehow bucked me up. Couldnt handle Ivanesevic repeatedly losing Wimbledon finals too.

Kill thors, make room for pheonixes to take out the vikings.

Good points, both of you. I did a lot of cheering for my college basketball team and they always eventually failed, I guess this isn't really a new feeling for me. I'm probably just more invested here since this is a game I play. I'll sleep on it and be back up for the stream tomorrow. Thanks guys, TL is a pretty cool place.

To be fair a lot of tournament games are 1/2-base all ins. He shouldn't bank on his opponents executing the cheese/allins poorly, he should play safe, especially when losing could drop him out of the tournament. 14 hatch on DQ against Select in game 3 just seemed like poor judgement.

Being 4 gas geysers up is probably a lot bigger reason for how the game went, than we are taking into account, but I'd def say transitioning into VR was not smart after he lost his core colossi army(phoenix with colossi is decent since they waste the vikings time away from the colossi). In any case, if they were getting similar gas income, PU wouldn't really have threatening amount of banshees _and_ thors, a mix of both or all of either, which the toss has units that can handle.

Any way I get watch reps/VODs of some of the better games from today? Couldn't commit the whole day to watching and missed the best matchups.

I'm scrolling it shows the rounds but there's no players in them. Everything is TBD.
NVM: works now.
