Such enjoyable games!
I really didn't realize Boxer was at that high of a level to be able to play against Fruitdealer like that. He put up a bigger fight than any of the Terrans from last season's GSL did. I thought my predictions for Boxer going far in the GSL were just being unrealistically hopeful, but I can see now he's got some starcraft 2 skill!
And what awesome tactics by both of them. They both play in a style that is just so enjoyable to watch.
GO BOTH OF YOU GUYS!! Looking forward to seeing them next week in some GSL games!

I'm a bit worried about the casters mocking the sponsors. This may lead to bad consequences.

God damn it, we get to see a great match (or at least a great game, the start of a great game, a stream cut out, a frantic download of some random player and then the end of a great game) and TL forums devolve into crazy arguing instead of any appreciation.
Anyway, picture time: http://img176.imageshack.us/img176/5319/disappoint2.png

The game thoroughly convinced me that all Boxer needs is some more practice. He will dominate SC2 to be sure.
It also further convinced me of the shittiness of Blizzard's map pool, to be honest.

ZvP feels really nice now but ZvT seems and feels Z favoured; Fruitdealer got away with being so greedy in those games, seems like zerg just has a touch too much room now for the matchup to be fair.
Of course, it could simply be the readjustment as people like Fruitdealer got REALLY good at ZvT prepatch and now it's just downright easier - might be asking too much for Boxer to be able to compete at that level already, though he was definitely really really close. Time will tell if zergs OP or terran strategy development/execution behind I guess. Awesome games all the same.
Agreed. Someone already touched on this. Zerg too fragile early, a bit too strong in macro later. How the heck is Blizzard going to find a happy medium? They nerfed Toss and Terran early rush openings to death now, so now what do they do?

Hardly anyone's really frothing at the mouth about it. If you want to seriously argue the fact that Zerg will win any macro war against the other two races in late game, go right ahead.
I think the solution to defeating Zerg will be from denying expos throughout the game, because it's inherently impossible to outmacro them if you just try to split the map.

Every thread @ TL seems to turn into to a balance discussion these days - its so tiresome. Can you guys wanting to discuss balance not keep it in a designated thread.

i'm in no position to say if zerg is overpowered, but such conclusion can't be made basing on the previous 2 games ... after the early aggression boxer pretty much turtled up and let fruitdealer massed bases ... when u are a 2-base terran up against a 4-base zerg ... it pretty much doesn't matter what you do anymore, you'll surely get overrun by over 9000 streams of units ... noticed how fruitdealer lost his gold, most of his units and came back 2 minutes later with a fuck ton of roaches? yeap that's the kind of advantage u can't afford to hand it to a decent zerg ... i'd prefer boxer to go heavy bio with multiple drops, not heavy mech turtle and only push out when creep reaches your nat lol
it was a fun game after all ...

Holy smokes this TL forum is getting polluted now by imba discussions in this thread; all over, conceivably, the best SC2 player out there, and the best SC1 player out there who only recently switched and was showing some unreal play himself. Where are the ban hammers when you need them? Peace.

They didn't mock the sponsors. There aren't any sponsors. It's Blizzard, and they can take a joke.

You just outlined the reason he lost.
Against FruitDealer ALMOST is not enough.

I think this will be an educational experience for him.
Top? Top would have one easily if the Ultra bug fix had been implemented,

Amazing games IMO, I've never seen such a continuous large scale battle go on for so long. All I saw were zerg units pouring in from 3 directions for like 5 minutes straight and just slowly widdle down that Terran death ball. I've never seen such a constant stream of reinforcements like what we saw out of fruitdealer there, really amazing. It's very interesting how aggressively FD expands the entire game, I don't think I've ever seen a zerg do that quiet so fluidly while still holding the T at bay for so long.
I feel like I would need to go back and watch that replay for literally 2 hours to really get what even just happened, there was so many battles going on in both games for that matter that I barely got a chance to really even acknowledge their build orders. FD's BO seems like .. 2 hatch into ... every single T2 tech lol .... I hope we can get the reps when Blizzcon is over.

Oh joy, it has become a balance bitch fest. Grow up and keep these talks out of tournament threads. Good God.
