Let us see a replay where you feel like you own your opponent hard because you played so awesomely. That way we can spot if anything is wrong.

Here are two PvZ games where I win easily.

hmm well i dont know if you can deal witha proxy 2 gate with a 3 stalker opening but i did search on google and found this thread about it

a lot of the comments either say micro like a boss until you can get a stalker sentry ball or just 2gate yourself to defend sorry i couldn't find more

For my question i would like to know about Terran, whenever i play against them and i feel like they have control of what i do early game unless i 2gate robo. Usually a terran will 1rax expo and i can't punish it and if i expo it's akwardly timed and i feel behind, however if i 1gate expo they just put on pressure and i lose it and become behind. Can i get some help?

I can help you with that,

1st if you know for sure he's going 1 rax FE. You can 1 gate FE into 2 nexus into 8 gate push off 3 nexus parting style or go 1 base colossus ( 1 robo 3 gates) get 2 colossus then push with mostly zealots after the 2nd colossus get stalkers. Focus fire scv with colossus if they repair bunker and kill vikings with stalkers this style need a bit more micro(btw this is called a calculated all-in).

2nd 1 gate expand is super safe vs 2 rax or even 3 rax pressure your most likely having a macro problem here or in the less common one a micro problem. you should have 1 zealot and 3 stalkers and warp gate done at 6:20ish no problem at holding 2 rax or 3 rax pull probes if you need it.

post replays aswell if you want me to be more precise on the problem.

Hey mate, you may want to read this thread on the 1-1-1:

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=250379

Long story short: probe cut at ~35 or thereabouts, 5 - 6 gates and robo with lots of Zealots, Sentries and Immortals. A few Stalkers for Banshee defense, but not too many (depending on the number of Banshees, of course).

Check out this vod of Sase vs Thorzain at MLG Winter on Shakuras for a defense of the 1-1-1. Thorzain screws it up a little but Sase just demolishes his 1-1-1: http://tv.majorleaguegaming.com/videos/84466-pool-play-qxgsase-vs-thorzain-game-2

Edit/ I believe the replays have also been released. See OP: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=317943

Personally I prefer to default to the zealot/sentry/immortal defense, but add a relatively quick robotics bay when I scout the 1/1/1 opener. The reason is that zealot/sentry/immortal scales extremely poorly with the terran army past ~100 supply, especially if they get combat shields, stim, and/or medivacs for an extremely delayed 3/1/1. In those cases you essentially autolose even if you have a larger army of gateway/immortal. If you scout a quicker variant of the 1/1/1 then you can just cancel the robotics bay and proceed into the standard mass gateway/immortal defense.

edit: here are RaNgEd's thoughts on this - http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=317863

Thanks @The Esikmo, I typically try to move out when I see a lot of mutas to try to end the game fast, but I guess I just have to be patient. I'm afraid of trying too defend for too long and then having the zerg march up with a ton of units at my front, or having him expand like crazy on the map. DT's can take care of that, though!

I am also losing A LOT of games to Zerg all ins. If I could figure out how to spot an all in and stop them, I would be winning a lot more games. I lose to the occasional Terran or Protoss, but by far my losses come from 6 -7 minute games against roach/ling all in zergs while I FFE.

How do I spot them, and what do I do to stop them? I lose my probe or I get it out early, but then I can never get back in to see what is happening because of his lings. If I take the watch tower and see them coming, it is already too late most of the time for me.

As it is, I pump sentries after my first zealot, but I usually only end up with 2 sentries and a zealot when the push comes. If I scout an early gas and then an expand, it could just be fast ling speed into something else, not necessarily an all in, so if I prepare each and every time with lots of cannons, I'm just behind.

Check for the the third base at 6-7. If you don't see one, try to sneak a probe and check for gas in the main. More gas signifies banelings, 2 gas tends to be roach/ling. You also want a solid wall off and if you know he's all inning you add extra cannons.
When life gives you lemons, you beat the crap out of life.

First off you are bronze, and here macro decides who is winning. You were 60 supply behind at 17 minutes (when no battle had been fought) and on to the fight, despite expanding way earlier. You should not win that.

As for unit composition, high templars are pretty much the perfect "counter" to that. He had no ghosts, feedback removes a big chunk of the health of the BC:s and thors and since all bronze leaguers ball up their units, storm would destroy the marines. Use pretty much whatever you want after to kill the rest, but zealots are very cost efficient against thors (test it before you claim thor "tank" damage) and stalkers will do well against the BC:s. Remember you don't need to spread the upgrades like the terrans has to.
Voidrays are cool with their bonus damage to massive, but you need to take out the marines first.
Kill one man and they'll call you a murderer. Kill an army of men and they'll call you a general. But kill all men and they'll call you a god.

Leave a small group of zealots and a HT at each base that are extremely vulnerable to drops. For instance, that late in the game on a map like entombed valley, your main probably wont be dropped because its tucked in nicely inside while your natural and third are right in front of it, so you just want to place some zealots and HTs at the natural and 3rd rather than your main. And remember, build PYLONS everywhere on the map, like on edges of the bases that havent been taken yet so you can spot possible ninja expos and drops. If one of your pylon sees the drop, the terran will most likely take the time to eliminate the plyon first and you will have more than enough time to place a few units to defend the drop.

You usually want to feedback the medivacs before they actually drop so the terran gets scared and backs off, but if he brings in 2-3+ dropships with low energy, u want to use storm and warp in more zealots to hold. Warping in DTs is a good way to fend off drops as well, as they need to blow scans to eliminate the DTs so you can just mix 1-2 DTs with a bunch of zealots and he will not only lose the drop but he used scans to try to fight off the DTs.

I think we need to see a replay to really give you better specifics on how to hold the 2 gate rush. If its a proxy, you either need to scout certain possible proxy locations so you dont continue with the 3 stalker rush, or its like a 2 gate rush from his base? im not sure lol. If you wait to build stalkers vs 2 gate rush, your basically dead. The only way i can see you holding that is cannon yourself in while you get those stalkers out. Other than that you need to scout the 2 gate rush in time to adjust and defend with your 2 gate that is supported by better economy or if you are able to scout it fast enough, i sometimes like to build a forge and use cannons to defend a proxy 2 gate that is build inside my base. Basically a free win from that point.

I'll just post this again in because I'm desperate for help.

I'm having such a hard time getting into Diamond, I've been Platinum for 6 seasons and I feel like I've made a lot of progress. I usually get to rank 1 in Platinum, then I keep getting matched up against other high rank plat players and diamond players... eventually I start losing like crazy, like 10 games in a row until I'm rank 20 or something, this makes me depressed as hell and I've quit playing a few times because of it. What I want to know is: Is there something fundamentally different about plat and diamond that I need to start practicing? because I have no idea what the hell I am supposed to do to make progress.

Lately, I've been playing the odd Meching Terran who opens with thors and banshees.

Now I have 2 questions:

If they expand, what kind of unit combination should I be looking to get to combat mech (tank, PF, banshee, thor)?

If they go one base 1/1/1 with thors instead of tanks should I be using the regular 1/1/1 defence?

What I do to defend 1/1/1 is one gate expo, 4 gate robo production building core. If I scout the 3 barracks variant, I make a robo bay (or rather, don't cancel) and I make collossus after 2 immortals.

To defend a thor version of the 1/1/1 I should be doing the same thing I assume? I don't get to play against it often so I'm not sure if this is ok.

I find I lose to these strategies primarily because I do not know what to do to defend and so I either end up really inefficient in my fights, or spending more time on thinking about it than I do on executing well.

Banshees shouldn't freak you out unless they're going for 2 port. If they are going two port with thors being secondary, go for templar, while still making primarily 1-1-1 defending units.

hey, i need some advice from some midmaster + protoss

in PvZ how do you guys deal with the style that is turtly ling/infestor/roach/ baneling into ultra? also probably will have drops for the upgraded zerglings (a pain to deal with). this is after a 3 hatch no gas, still using roaches to defend any timings so you can't kill him pre-infestor etc.

it seems so strong, yet not very many zergs do it. way more scary than roach aggression IMO.
