I never really saw any reason for DotA to be harder than LoL on the highest levels, it mostly comes down to the same skills, but I never even thought about LoL being the harder game. To get a grasp of the aAa teams relative level, what LoL team would you compare them to? aAa would be an amateur non LCS team in LoL. It's difficult to measure which game is "harder" at the highest level because in the end you still have to be better than the rest of the player pool, but I'd say it's "harder" to become a pro dota player from scratch. The best dota players have 5+ years of experience right now. Both games rely heavily on experience. For league it's knowing your lane matchups, knowing when you're stronger, when you can kill them, when you can cs, etc. For dota it's knowing where to be on the map and how to spend your time most efficiently, and good map sense/game sense. If you're good in either game you'll be pretty good at the other after 1000 games or so total (which really isn't that much if you think about it). Intangibles can determine whether you're gonna be just as good though. Hyhy switched from being a pro Dota player last year and signed instantly to SGS. He's done okay, but he's not fantastic.

Side note: Are there any other instances of AP-scaling physical damage? There's lots of AD-scaling magic damage but looking at Twitch's Expunge made me realize how rare the reverse is. EDIT: Akali's E and Vi's E. Tryndamere E, Ezreal Q, Irelia Ulti, Jax Q, Quinn Q, Sivir Q ( it's only 0.5 now tho)

Tbh I found this hilarious xD They're not high-profile pro like any attending TI though. Ofc those ones would break D1 in LoL just as easily as high-profile LoL pros would be in very high matchmaking in a few hundred games. Is anyone on the aAa squad decent at dota2 ? :p

CombatEX (not really a pro but oh well) is in plat 3 with over a thousand games played this season. Destiny is diamond 2/3 and he's been playing this game for 10 months now, and has thousands of games played. Puzzle, CoCa and sC, some of the top players in the world, switched to LoL but then later switched back because they weren't successful. Select went to Dota2 for a while and found little success. It seems weird to me, because you would think they would absolutely dominate these games. Last hitting and using their skills well should be a given since they all have really good mechanics from starcraft, but the lack of teamwork in SC2 really drags down their mechanical skill. I remember that HotBid interview with Locodoco where he mentioned that SC2 players are really good mechanically but they just cannot play as a team very well. I just found it really interesting that some of the best players in the world at one of the hardest/highest skill cap games ever find little ol' casual League of Legends to be so hard. I'm not a pro by any means, but I'm fairly highly ranked in SC2 (~top 500EU on my usual seasons), and LoL is hard as shit for me to adapt to. Sure, I don't have any mechanical problems, but god is it hard to change your mindset

What percentages are the different divisions in SC2 compared to their LoL counterparts btw? Edit: I guess i can google that ^^ Grandmaster 200 players Master 2% Diamond 18% Platinum 20% Gold 32% Silver 20% Bronze 8% These graphs explain it pretty well for LoL: http://i.imgur.com/Bqln4yy.png******** Gold 5 is top 9%, which is about mid Diamond, so you're actually not that far off.

That said, this is a dumb conversation anyway. I'm all for constructive discussion between LoL and Dota, but this one is flawed and not really going anywhere.

Trying to argue over which game is harder, which game has a higher skillcap, which players would do well at which game if they switched, is just stupid and at best poorly educated guesswork. Actual results of people trying other games has consistently proven that you just don't know.
