Please sir, I need to figure out what your mind is thinking when you make these ridiculous claims without any evidence to back it up. Maybe one day I can be as sagacious as you are.

Didn't you know destiny is only D2?!?

Ugh, please stop talking out of your ass. What teams from SEA are you even talking about here that are comparable to CLG and TSM (not even going to talk about C9/Vulcun here)? Perhaps SGS? The team that failed to qualify for Worlds a second year in a row, despite touted as the best team in the region. Or maybe you mean Mineski, the team that "subbed" in at the last minute and managed to win the whole thing. Says a lot about SEA, doesn't it? I swear, it's like you didn't even watch the SEA Regional qualifiers. I give you a ton of leeway when it comes to theorycrafting (you should thank TheYango about this tbh) but if you're going to making snide and blatantly wrong comments like this, I'm going to call you out.

Are you accusing riot of misnaming regions and including teams that don't belong in certain regions for business-side reasons!?

Well lets put it this way. - We'll consider the 6 EU teams that went to TI3 equivalent to EU LCS. - Then we consider a level below that we have teams like ICCup, rox.Kis, Kaipi, ex-QPAD, etc. Teams that can win games from some of the "LCS" teams and who are interchangeable with the bottom end LCS ones by performance. These would be equivalent to the Challenger level teams. - Then below that we have those teams that go to events and they do well enough for you to sort of know who they are but they never actually go anywhere. In DotA these are teams like 4FC, ex-RDM (the Synderen team), etc. aAa's DotA team is somewhere below that 3rd tier. They're that team that stomps local LANs in an area that doesn't really have LANs for the game, they play online cups and win a couple games off teams you've never heard of, and sometimes get a lucky run in an open cup if the bracket gives them enough no-name teams, but as soon as they face a team you've ever heard of before, they lose.

So, can people go back to their respective forums now that this is settled? P.S. Or maybe the two games are just really differnt and this discussion is useless, who knows.

SEA representative in S2 was Saigon Joker only, TPA is not SEA team, it represented Taiwan/HongKong/Macau. Although Garena run Taiwanese LoL server, but they still make sure 2 regions are different. GPL SEA and GPL TW/HK are different. We of course still have tounrnaments like GPL Summer which combine everything under Garena. In a sense, it's like Riot runs LCS NA and LCS EU, which are 2 different one, but Garena sometimes have tournaments that mesh 2 together for fun.

This is the first actual conversation (where at least some people are legitimately not trolling) about the merits of Dota and League as games. Usually I feel like we do a good job recognizing the two as different games and, although most of us here prefer League, we show a good amount of respect toward Dota. Who knows, maybe I'm romanticizing. But this is how I remember it.
