What I'm hoping is that they are going to leave this patch on the PBE longer than usual and try and get it AS CLOSE to balanced as possible before the patch goes live. Still, I'm pretty excited.

honestly. These item changes were kinda needed. Will have to see how they play out and how well they fit. But looking forward to this.

I'm a little disappointed that the Poor Man'sDoran's Shield passive is unique, seeing as Doran's Shield is already the least common buy among the Doran's items.

It looks like a lot of it is dota inspired. Some of it came from some questions people asked on these threads. I remember someone was asking why melee carries sucked and we all answered that exhaust shut them down and their offensive modifiers weren't strong enough (Sion's is).

Lifesteal was too easy to get and the fear was that damage didn't stick. (I don't really agree but it is much cheaper than health regen).

Riot's also really trying to ensure that people stick to an AP mid, AD carry, support meta with all these new items. Before the only item that could be considered a pure support items was shurelias because it didn't give enough combat stats so bruisers buying it would miss out on pure damage and tankiness.

The strengthening of golems means junglers might take it more. Moving wraiths away from mid is a huge deal for those high level junglers.

I'm a bit worried about this though:
Armor and Magic Resistance is generally around 10 to 20% more expensive than before

I mean... as a bruiser I barely survive 2 seconds in 5v5 teamfights as it is.

Also hurricane still looks broken.
I think in our modern age technology has evolved to become more addictive. The things that don't give us pleasure aren't used as much. Work was never meant to be fun, but doing it makes us happier in the long run.

I'm thinking Frozen Fist is going to be absurd on Nasus. Uses every single stat on there, and it has a better build path than trinity for him. Would suck though to auto push the lane while farming Q, but by the time you have it you'd better be killing towers in a hurry anyways.

It also make it a less good buy against champ dealing physical damage through spells (Jayce, Darius, Panth... ?).

Also Avarice blade for Jewplank builds. Huehue.
And Zeke... why would you buy it? CDR, HP, a little bit of AD and a lifesteal aura? Not really interesting for a support anymore. :/

Oh, yeah... DFG+Swain. 'sup, 40 (if additive) or 44 (if multiplicative) % damage more? WHO SAID I CAN'T BURST YOU WITH DOTS.
Cant take LMS hipsters serious.

Shurelyas was bought a LOT on bruisers, support-only items were like, Mana Manip, Soul Shroud, MAYBE Zeke's. Not much else.

Its ok because as a bruiser you're going to be doing tons more damage. It might all end up being balanced because everything is OP. No one will know for the first 3 months.

Why did Quantic get awarded a win for that last game? The game crashed when it was still a coin toss.

Yeah for a really mechanically strong AD carry like DL in competitive play it would be great. But at the same time, imagine solo q with a diver on the enemy team that likes BF sword items, like nocturne. He dives in, w's 1 cc, they try to cc him again, QSS's it and now you can't possibly run away with how fast he is and how much damage he does. x_x
It's kind of scary to me. Especially if you naturally play squishier champs like AP or AD carries that often are dived for.

Then naturally with more mid-range defensive/offensive itemization (and an overall nerf in cost-effectiveness of end-tier items), it means that APs/ADs won't be playing 100% glass cannon anymore--which is probably a good change if it actually causes that.

A mix of 2-3 offensive + 2-3 defensive on AD carries rather than 4 offensive + 1 defensive which is pretty much the standard right now broadens the scope of itemization differences among ADs, because suddenly WHICH 2-3 offensive items you choose can matter a lot, rather than always ending up with the same 5 items in the long run.

Actually, I have a feeling, we'll see a lot more bruisers or melee carries like Tryndamere and Jax this upcoming season. Tryn with avarice blade into tiamat or straight to rageblade, mercurial scimitar would 1v5 teams with his ulti and Kayle ulti or GA or Zilean ulti or Yorick ulti.

Point is, AD carries seem so much more vulnerable this upcoming season that I wonder whether we'll see a shift towards bruiser-centric compositions.

Tower shots increase in power as you tank more though so this would possibly break the chain? Tank 2-3, active > 2-3 and you've tanked like 1/2 the damage normally.

The casters got news that Quantic won the game, they're not sure if the game actually kept going without the spectators or if CLG just conceded the game.

The other thing to consider is that Ohmwrecker says "nearby enemy towers", not a specific targeted tower. Depending on the AoE of this effect, it leads me to believe that it's designed for the purpose of diving between 1st/2nd tower or 2nd/3rd tower where multiple towers may be relevant.

I don't know if this is an item niche worth filling.

Towers haven't been as scary since fortify was removed. If tower shot damage chaining got broken then ohms seems quite strong. Towers never reached infinite damage though. They have a cap.

Zephyr looks huge on Jax. Apart from the "no resistance nor AD to fuel his ult" problem.

Wraith Collar seems... underwhelming, unless the active also seeks in the fog of war "Ambushing? No, ambushed!" kinda way.

Liandry's Lament + DFG (+ tear once 6 so he can fuel it through ult) seems pretty good on Swain. Probably not viable due to accrued damage and the build-up for mana that'd be too long. Swain probably nerfed through the resistances nerf anyway (and champs like Udyr too... ?).
Cant take LMS hipsters serious.
