Two reasons, mostly. It makes it easier to last hit, and a good early game scales into a better late game. Also, the new masteries let you get 10% and 6 flat arpen. Someone crunched the math somewhere, and found out that arpen and flat AD runes are roughly equal now if you go 21 offense.

Just on Hecarim's ganks, I think his lane ganks are among the best. Come through lane with E and then ult through them + knock them away from their tower. With any sort of coordination it's a very strong gank, even better with ghost up obviously. His ganks pre-6 aren't too great though since getting behind people is usually difficult, and Q needs to hit harder against minions for him to be really good.
Overall I really don't think he's that bad, and he has some upsides as a jungler. His early game dueling is pretty good, his ult is obviously great, and his clear speed for his first clear isn't bad as long as you get a good blue leash. A couple of times I've ran into an enemy jungler at level 2-3 and just straight up killed them, since with ghost up he does insane damage at low levels and is impossible to escape.
As far as builds go, you really have to go straight bruiser instead of building him like a tank. Wriggles, hexdrinker and triforce are good items, and for tank items I think frozen heart is much better than going early HoG into randuins just because CDR feels so good on him.

In my experience from both sides of the matchup, Olaf is one of the few champs that Riven has a really hard time with. Unless she maxes E, after a few levels in Reckless Swing Olaf just does way too much damage at once. It cuts right through her shield and puts him ahead in just about any trade. Riven can do really well the first few levels, but once that true damage gets high enough she gets trashed since she doesn't build health and can't reliably sustain off of creeps with Olaf sitting there.

I think they use it mostly for bugfixes, not for actual feedback.

I managed to beat olaf with jarvan... granted the olaf was pretty bad but it was pretty funny how jarvan seems to be the most effective "cc" against olaf ulti i mean unless i trap my whole team in ulti then oops >_>

I'm low Elo so take this with a grain of salt, but I usually pick Nidalee(AP, I hate AD Nid with a passion) when I'm vs Yorick, and it seems to work pretty well. Before lvl 6 you can just heal yourself while you last hit, and ignore his harass. Once you're lvl 6 you can push him out of lane quite easily.
But yeah, Yorick is still an asshole

I've also been told that it's to do with sustaining more with the 3% lifesteal mastery.

on tryndamere you want the full 25 armor pen and then take either armor yellow or mr blue flat depending on what lane your facing, take attack speed in the attribute you arent facing
so against something like renekton
armor pen/armor/attack speed
against kennen
armor pen/attack speed/mr
21-9-0 spells up to you, i usually like exhaust/ignite or heal/ignite or some bullshit like that. spells arent too important on him

No, really, I hate nidalee so much. I don't think I've ever won a lane vs her. Sure she's supposed to do a lot less late game but at 6 she's just able to do so much damage and effectively kick me out of lane within a couple minutes. I feel like my hate for her though is the fact that she's impossible to catch and does too much damage to trade with .Anyone have tips?
