While I agree with most of this, I don't quite see why you consider him jungle and support only, I lane solo top maokai all the time, and he can push his lane ridiculously well, and can trade farm if under constant jungle pressure no problem. Also, you can set up perfect ganks with youre jungler thanks to the root and knockup. With all that farm he can tank ridiculous amounts of damage, and has lots of utilty with his cc late game. The only real matchups I have problems with solo top, is Riven who is ridiculously strong anyways, and trynd.

I think that anything that makes the jungle more accessible to lower level summoners will help the game and I'm looking forward to trying different opening items with the Moose. It makes his first clear a LOT faster and safer than any other possible item combination, builds in something actually useful (depending on how you play him, Wriggle's or Randuin's) and makes countering early on possible. It's a suboptimal start for many junglers imo, but for Rammus, it's pretty legit. can i ask why randiuns is worth getting at all? heart of gold seems useless when maladreds/wriggles procs earn you gold faster because you kill faster. then when u get wriggles having a free ward constantly is basically free gold/5 anyway Show nested quote +On November 29 2011 04:09 Two_DoWn wrote: Saint also been experimenting with dsheild stack in jungle.

Maokai is pretty damn good all around the place. I'm doing great mid with him.
His main "issue" imo is that he has less sustain than real sustainy champs, less burst than bursty champs and less in your face dps than "real bruisers" - however, he has some of all of that. And you can build him in so many cool ways. <3

I think we all agree that Solo Q sucks, but I don't think I've found a game that is as much fun to play as a team as LoL. If you get things clicking man it is super satisfying. Maybe we can try to revitalize the TL community in-game and have more decent people to play with? I just don't see any other games around that have held my interest. I've pretty much put SC2 on the shelf until the expansion comes out and LoL is where I'm spending my time.
One thing I know for sure. Path of Exile was a huge let down.

Isn't actually competitive and is seemingly simple at first (but has lots of minor details in the background and is stupidly grindy) but Dungeon Defenders is a very good distraction from LoL. I started playing it cause my laptop sucks and playing LoL at 5 FPS got old fast. Also it's only $15. It's a fun single player or co-op experience. It has PvP although it completely sucks. I still play LoL like every other day or so but Dungeon Defenders is pretty damn fun.
I like Maokai. I don't think he falls off that much late game to be honest it's just instead of doing damage he becomes a tanky nightmare. I'm sure you could still build him to do damage for late game though but it'd be at the cost of some of your tankiness.

Guildwars! Although it's kind of dead afaik, and people won't let you into their pug-teams unless you grind out a ton of games for achievements. But random arena is fun, especially for baddies like me.
That or just play skyrim or something until you get the urge to play LoL again.
Somewhat related: i wish i had aim so i could be halfway decent at quake. Timing armors and stuff is really cool and super satisfying.

You just have to grind out hundreds of hours is all. Quake Live is pretty fun and will make you better at every PC FPS if you're willing to put in the grind so that you can get good at aiming.

Well maybe BW in its infant stages but right now execution triumphs decision making in low-mid levels cause macro > most things usually.

Absolutely no point in starting to play Guild Wars anymore.
Was a great game, but by now, it incested itself into being just a group of top players cycling the same teams in the two competetive formats.
And random arena is no better that soloQ...
If you're not into FPS, then you'll be hard pressed to find a competetive game with a decent player base (other than the moba's and SC ofc)
€: not talking video-games, Go and Mahjong are actually really challenging and fun/strategic

Has anyone's client just decided to stop working?
I don't know what happened but suddenly whenever I open the launcher it says "Pvp.net patcher has stopped working". It says theres an unhandled exception (its trying to read past end of file for some strange reason). It might be just be fucking something up with my computer since I was programming other stuff all weekend and accidentally broke something by accident but I doubt it.

I had that once when my pc crashed while lol was updating. Luckily I still had 2 clients from when you couldn't change server in the client, so it didn't matter to me, but I sure did not find any way to fix it.

Go is awesome though.
Dno, I loved BW so much. Kinda feel like no "modern" game can keep up with it. /bitter vet mode off.
PS: Chess and Go are games with full information though, so they're not as cool as let's say LoL/Poker/Starcraft.
