Trump's remarks are not helping anyone on the BK side, given the allegations are all falling apart. I think Mrs. Ford is a troubled woman and therefore shouldn't be mocked, but nothing she says can be comprobated, nor is it even coherent at this point.
None the less, I'm just an evil republican cause it really cracked me up. the cognitive dissonance of this post knocked me out of my chair, impressive. What part? I can point out that the president's remarks aren't strategically smart, but still pretty damn funny. For losing the House in November? Because the threat is now that a lot of angry women show up in November to vote their disapproval of Trump. And polling shows they don’t like the attacks on Ford. The actual imitation, is you know, funny to some people. You know, like watching the damn video and laughing a bit. I also laughed my ass off at Booker's "I'm spartacus" clip, Linda Sarsour screaming while being draged out protesting the hearings, and a whole lot of other stuff that is simply ridiculous and funny to watch. Not everything is life and death, it's ok to laugh about stuff. It has become pretty clear you watch US politics like it is Pro-Wrestling. But, in generally I don’t laugh at jokes made at the expense of people’s pain and suffering. Especially lazy jokes.

And the lady in question also has a statement denying that she was helped for the polygraph... It doesn't end. I'll wait until the end to decide my mind on these accusations. I really hope the FBI is going to interview everyone, so nobody can complain. US Politics has turned into Pro-Wrestling. It is not of my doing. Oh come on, do you ever enjoy memes? Most jokes are at the expense of people or stereotypes of people. We will have to disagree on that, I think Trump's imitation was pretty damn funny.

I still don’t understand how Fox News got that letter and that part has been left out of every story they have written. And every other news agency I read hasn’t picked up the story yet. Did Grassley leak the letter directly to Fox News? And why don’t we know the dudes name and why hasn’t this been passed on to the FBI?

The plot thickens. I wish they stated by which mean her friend denies the new acussation (press, sworn document?)

an 'anonymous' boyfriend from 92 to 98 really shouldn't be that hard to find. nyt reporting his name is brian merrick.
edit: and who the fuck cares about ford helping someone with a polygraph 20 years ago? and both of them denied that this happened anyways.

The boyfriend's letter is totally new, from like yesterday. You don't understand why the other channels don't want to report about the new letter asap? Maybe something to do with their "editorial line" ?
The dailywire link I posted a few posts back includes the actual letter if you want to check it out.

It would matter because she said under oath she had never helped anyone prepare for a polygraph iirc.

To be fair. Since we are arguing that Kavanaugh lied during his testimony, it should also be mentioned if Ford lied during her testimony. And she clearly said she had never provided assistance to anyone about polygraph tests. I don't have the exact verbatim at the ready. However, an ex-boyfriend that wants to not be involved but just wanted to discredit... it is a little bit fishy as well. "Hey she committed perjury but don't involve my in the process" is a little...

The dailywire link I posted a few posts back includes the actual later if you want to check it out. I follow politics and reporting in DC pretty carefully. If NPR or the Times had this lead and they could confirm its veracity, they would be reporting on it. But as far as I can tell Grassley’s letter to Ford’s attorney doesn’t seem to be out there with reporters, so I have to assume he gave it to Fox News.
And the editorial line for the news agencies I read is “Don’t publish leaks for senator’s offices and pretend it is breaking news.”
And I don’t read the Daily Wire or any online publication I can’t figure out who owns it, how its funded and doesn’t have a reporting team.

I haven't followed recent events... So this Kavanaugh person is alleged for sexual assault by this Ford lady. Any evidence so far supporting anyone's claims? And btw how can this Ford lady find any evidence from 35 years ago, it seems Impossible without any witnesses... Normally in this situation the benefit of the doubt should be given to those who are consistent with their stories and not change them based on the circumstances or new findings... And whoever Is found to lie should get the maximum sentence adhere d by the law. Because while sexual assault is despicable and should never be tolerated, framing someone for sexual assault which he did not commit is equally despicable and can ruin a man's life...

This isn't a criminal proceeding, no one is pushing for criminal charges, and most importantly, TESTIMONY IS EVIDENCE.
I'll let other posters fill in the rest.

Statute of limitations mean there can be no sentencing in that case. Only a credibility test between both testimonies and background research by FBI based on that, to allow senators to choose to confirm Kavanaugh or not. Do note the FBI will not provide conclusions. It is going to interview people and provide findings.
There has been no evidence as you can imagine. Ford has some holes in her statements and recollection, and Kavanaugh went crazy during his hearing, answering back to senators, arguing about Clinton vengeance and dodging questions like a champ, being misleading about his youth as well. (Tried to pass lots of remarks about being drunk and "courting" ladies as innocent drinking games and being friends) His state of mind after the accusations was not the best. Kinda understandable for a man, but still worrying for a judge.
The past days are about who can destroy the credibility of one or the other from politicians, the press, etc, along partisan lines of course.

according to the wsj profile of ford , brian merrick said this
“It strikes me as odd it never came up in our relationship,” Mr. Merrick said. “But I would never try to discredit what she says or what she believes.”
so feels kinda weird he'd come out now with this letter.

My "fake letter" senses are tingling, but it's impossible to say from afar. The drastic switch up is certainly suspicious.

I've only read some news headlines and some comments, I haven't seen the testimonies, nor have read articles in the news. Just stating something obvious. I don't have an opinion, just waiting for the facts as I'm curious to see how this will unfold...

I can't be the only person who has never told any of my friends about being sexually assaulted. I have some very close friends, but I fail to see the relevance if I have since moved on and it was many years ago. In the case of Ford, it's not like sexual assault is some kinda girl-talk thing you chat about while getting your nails done. Women certainly feel more of an inclination to share information just for the fuck of it more than men, but touchy topics like sexual assault are likely not an example of that.

But after the testimony, there is little reason to believe Ford is making up the charges out of some sort of malice or political plot. At worst she is mistaken about who assaulted her.
