Stupid are people who doesn't teach the history and forgive the mistakes of the others before them. Look forward but have in mind what happened before. So beating in school is one completely normal thing which many of the kids have faced one time or another. | ||

We don't know exactly what happened.The official opinion is that The bully was waiting for him in the classroom and then beat the crap out of him. Well, in that case the bully is fucking retarded. If he was at least a bit clever he would have waited for him outside, where less people can interfere. But that's only if that's the case. I think, psychologists call this "emotional blunting" and I think, we are all affected by this (hey, we're playing StarCraft and cheer about death animations of units, e.g.). Of course it's in our own responsibilities to act accordingly (actually being able to distinguish between game and reality), but imo it's a very long term process that is very difficult to recognize, because the media (TV, newspapers, internet) are trying to catch one's eye with even more stunning news, showing even more intense violence (and news are accessible easily for children as well). Due to this, I think, people passively tolerate much more violence and antisocial behaviour which leads to incidents like mentioned in the OP. It may be a bit far fetched, but just some of my thoughts... | ||

But he was gay. And you're greatly deluding yourself if you think gay kids getting creamed at school like this doesn't happen regularly. It does, and it's a serious issue. Basically, two things: 1) A physical assault like this is fucking horrible, no matter what kid it was done to 2) Gay kids at school are the victims of far more bullying in school than straight kids, so yes, it does matter that he's gay | ||
