Is diversity good or bad? A meta-analysis of 50 years of diversity research shows that some aspects have negative consequences for teams. Is national diversity one of them? And does it influence how long an esports team will survive in the industry? Here's the scientific answer.

I guess any impeding factor on communication will always have a negative outcome. Didn`t read yet.

More diversity is usually good! Of course there are a lot of factors including communication and trying to coordinate practice. Hopefully more evidence will help us believe more in diversity in the future. Maybe we have to force some of these factors to begin with!

Ignoring the click bait title and subject matter, it makes no difference for players in video games or traditional sports as long as there is not a communication barrier or requirement.

Also focusing on a title that arguably has the lowest amount of cognitive load is definitely a choice.

For actual real life applications, just the fact that specific statistics regarding the matter get filtered and even censored tells you all your need to know. Anyone less proficient and skilled is just going to perform worse. Naturally occurring diversity is neutral. Forced is always a net negative.
