It was a long movie but instead of concentrating on 3-4 things and making them good they somehow wanted to create scene after scene accepting rather poor narrative but all that has been said already. What I really missed was something that pulled you emotional/psychological into the movie. In "Batman begins" we got to know who Batman is, where everything started etc. TDK was all about Ledgers' fantastic interpretation of the Joker. TDKR was a bit about Blake I guess? But then there were Catwoman, Bane, Miranda who all had a bit of story behind themselves but you never got to know them. The movie felt like one army (mercenarys) against another army (the police + civilians) with Batman and Catwoman appearing every other minute. Oh another thing I did not like about Wayne/Batman this time: They said he did not leave his house for 7 years and Alfred later confirms that he has not been in his cave for 7 years. He can't go takes a small gadget to stabilize his leg and goes full athlete again. Then after one brawl (against Bane ok but nevertheless... one brawl) he has to train for days in the prison to get all his strength back ofcourse without having that thing on the leg (he does not wear his suit so I guess they took it away from him aswell). I don't know it did not feel right to me. It was an okay end to the triology but it's not on the same level as it's predecessors

It was hit and miss, I guess for those who know a bit of Batman; some of the "surprises" were obvious. The ending was definitely latched on and I fucking hated how many characters they tried to involve that just seem tacked on.

Every scene in Rising had a purpose, whereas we had scenes in TDK that were totally unnecessary (China escapades for example). Also the third act in Dark Knight is draining and dull, despite the superb beginning to the movie. With Rising, we got Batman back and this was the best Batman Bale we have seen, Michael Caine was immense and heart of the movie. Catwoman was unnecessary tough, you could write her out and it would make almost no difference. Begins>>Rising>>>>>TDK

+ Show Spoiler + [image blocked] This negates many of the films flaws IMO. The only truly glaring flaw if you ask me was how Batman returned to Gotham from wherever the fuck in the middle east so shortly after them making such a major point of his being poor. I loved this movie though, it tied the entire trilogy together so well for me and never felt tacked on. I felt like they had a story written since before Batman Begins and later decided to split it into three movies. It did an amazing job tying together so many story arcs from the spirit of Gotham surviving without lies and false heroes to The League of Shadows to Bruce Wayne finally finding some sort of happiness and being able to let Gotham stand on its own. I thought Bane did an incredible job as a villain, and this is coming from someone who facepalmed when they chose him over The Penguin, Ventriloquist or Black Mask, any one of these guys would be awesome and creepy as fuck when I imagined them making the same transition the Joker did. His motive was well established and deeply woven into the existing story, his plan had a deeper depth and meaning than to simply kill a bunch of people and it was a joy to watch all of Gotham fall so easily to him. I loved that I had fully expected him to blow the shit out of everyone in the stadium only to let them be free. It defied my expectations in every way. Even Catwoman who I thought was tied with Mr. Freeze for the worst possible villain played her part well. After watching her develop in a similar yet opposite way as Bruce Wayne and them both finding redemption along the same path I can't imagine any other possible love interest bringing us a satisfying ending. The only thing I could really compare the way I enjoyed this movie tying up the series is to Metal Gear Solid 4. It was an over the top, bombastic approach 10x bigger than anything preceding it that managed to bring decisive and satisfying conclusions to a huge amount of characters with an ending that was too sweet, yet perfectly suitable. I understand people may have found it cheesy, but I for one enjoyed the shit out of it and was incredibly relieved to not have another open ended "let the viewer decide" ending. You can complain about little details such as the ineffectiveness of assault weaponry all you want, but I don't think its worth losing sight of the big picture here, which is in my opinion an awesome conclusion.

I get that the idea was to "break Batman's spirit" by making him watch his city burn, but his "genius" plan makes him seem more like Dr.Evil than a villain worthy of Batman. I know not everyone can be the Joker, but he has Batman helpless at his feet which basically gives him free reign for any sort of elaborate mental torture he can come up with, and the best he can do is "here, watch from a safe distance while I nuke myself"? What's wrong with just chopping off the Bat-limbs and then lighting a few orphanages on fire?

First of all what annoyed me the most. The ending. Wow, he tells catwomen "no autopilot" oh what a twist, he had one, Really got me there. That was not a "twist" I approved. If you want the legend to be set in stone. Let him be dead, as a symbol of justice. Bonus for the cheesy ending in florence, ugh, I wanted to vomit as I saw that. What was that? It was like a teenage lovestory ending, not the batman I knew out of begins, dk and arkham asylum. Other than that and some stupid small stuff. (he had a solid robe out of the hole in prison, use that shit to climb up or swing to the stone. Also it was the loudest movie I ever watched, might be the cinema though. Seriously I hear music loud as fuck when Im at home, but when Im sitting there thinking "oh that shit is loud" I dont think about the movie itself in that moment. Another thing there were the looooong downtimes between action. And I usually dont dislike that, In fact batman is the only action based movie I watched for years. But theres 30 minuntes of jump cuts, telling storys of 4 characters which I really dont care about also explaining the evil plan which I understood for a long time now. This movie could have been 1hour30min long and still be just as exciting. Now dont get me wrong. Its still a great movie, better than the usual shit you see in the cinema. But it doesnt come close to the first 2.

Knight Fall is the story of Bane coming along and being smarter and stronger than Batman. Breaks Batman's back and can control Gotham by proxy of the other villains. Also to prove he is better than Batman. Bruce Wane gives up on being Batman and gives the mantel to some one else. This new Batman beats Bane and instills fear in the criminals but there is an issue. That person then does not hold up Batman ideas, no killing, and Bruce must come back and take the identity of Batman back. No Mans Land is the story of Gotham cut off from the rest of the world and the criminals taking over. Man made plague and a natural earthquake will do this…. Bruce Wane lobbies the government to undo this but loses. People inside Gotham take up identities and police that wont abandon the city to try to take back the city from the criminals that take over. Bruce Wane comes back as Batman galvanizes the good and wins the day. Things I liked and did not like about Catwoman. The way she looked but the first time she flipped up the goggles I saw it and was happy it looks like cat ears. We have no way of knowing she is good like Batman knows in the movie. Catwoman is an ultra competent thief and fighter, why would she need a computer program that erases her from the world? She does not, but the roommate that is not a ultra competent thief and fighter would. This is what would make her good and we would know A throw away line "I will give you a clean slate." Imagine the first part of the movie up to where Batman goes to confront Bane. The gate closes Catwoman has no idea about about the gate and has to stand there during the beat down that Batman gets and the damaged back. Thats the end of the movie. Side note Joseph Gordon-Levitt charter name should have been Terry McGinnis But that would have been hard to introduce before Dick Grayson or Nightwing. This is nitpicking.

Catwoman was superb both in the job done by Hathaway and also the character herselflf. She was a vital link with Bruce and his final happyness and salvation from The Batman. Nothing about TDK was jumbled. It was structured in a mechanical way that only a character like The Joker could make work. The china scene was fairly straight forward, and showed the need for the "Dark Knight", as Dent could not get hold of Lao without Batmans "alterior methods". Bane and Alfred were great characters though, i definately agree.

What's wrong with just chopping off the Bat-limbs and then lighting a few orphanages on fire? Wow this is so simpleminded. A "safe distance" is more like a distance that makes it some Wayne can't do anything except watch helplessly. Chopping off limbs and lighting some orphanages on fire? Did you even watch any of the movies? Wayne's entire goal in life and the reason he even came back to Gotham at all was for the purpose of saving it. What I absolutely hate about the random people who dislike this movie is that SO MANY of these criticisms can come from any movie if you go into it trying to nitpick random shit. You could probably do that with The Dark Knight that everyone seems to love so much and come up with random "inconsistencies" that just seem to "ruin the movie". You could do it with ANY MOVIE, I am almost certain of it. There are so many legitimate points as to why this movie fell short of The Dark Knight, but then people come in here with the most retarded reasons like: - "How does Bane eat?? Terrible movie!!" Answer: Who fucking cares? - "No guards at the prison?? Ruined movie!!" Answer: Its a giant hole in the ground that people regularly commit suicide on trying to climb out. Oh but your OCD is exactly what we want to cater to when it comes to entertainment. - "How did batman get back into Gotham so quick?? Ruined movie!!!" Answer: Yeah, lets make it a real-time 5 month movie and watch them eat their meals and take their shits. No one cares. I mean, you could have chosen issues like the fact that Bane's role was diminished with Talia in the picture, you could bring up the fact that the first half is stagnant due to too many characters being introduced and explained at once. But no, you choose all the random shit that really no one wants to see anyway and then call it a terrible movie. Come on guys...
