If you are into mixed european music (french/german/english) you might also like this one: (mostly french though) also: he doesn't speak chinese very well but I like to listen to it anyways. From what I experienced the energy of die Ärzte is lost on chinese listeners :/

Zombie Nation: Great German electro music. Internationally known for Kernkraft 400 (search for it if you don't recognize the name, you definitly know the melody). I think his other tracks are rather underestimated, this is one of my favorites:

There is also a chinese version of this song out there :D Ah it's the German grammar I found confusing. "Guck dir den Dieter an" Why "dir" and "den"? I would expect "Guck Dieter an" "Musst du die denn färben?" Is the verb denn färben? I don't understand this too. I was not quite satisfied with the explanations given so i hope i can clear this up more. Grammaticly this small sentence is really not that easy. "dir" is the Dativ of the personal pronoun "du". As you probably know a Dativ is used for indirect objects like in "Ich schreibe Klaus einen Brief" - "i write a letter to Klaus". In this case "Ich", the acting person, is the subject ( Nominativ), "Brief" (in this case with the non determining article "ein"(Akkusativ. "einen")) is the direct object ( Akkusativ-Objekt) and "Klaus" is the indirect object. Direct and indirect is meant in relation to the verb. Analogous is the sentence " Ich schreibe dir einen Brief" meaning " I write a letter to you" with the "dir" beeing the indirect object (Dativ Objekt). The problem with your sentence is that "gucken"(ever wondered where "to look" came from? ![]() The determined article "der" ( or in this case its Akkusativ "den") is not really proper German (you should not use it with personal names) but it's commonly used to emphasise the specificness ( sorry for that word^^) of that person. So if a parent in the context of the song tells his child "guck dir den Dieter an" it wants his child to have a look at Dieters merits in comparison to his own failiures ( that's the processing part). Coming back to the use of "dir" as an indirect object for "gucken" you could loosely say that allthough a person can always only look for himself in this case it's emphasised that the looking person himself is involved in the process of looking. Meaning it invites the person to not only point his eyes at Dieter but also take in the Information. So the use of the indirect object furthers the involvement of the subject if that makes any sense to you. I can't explain why the "denn" in "Musst du die denn färben?" has the function that it does. It's a rethorical question and the function of the "denn" is, as explained earlier in this thread, to convey disapproval. I dont know how to translate it literally but "Do you really have to dye them?" said with an disapproving voice carries the meaning okish. Usually "denn" is a Konjunktion that ushers in an explaining sentence.

I think I've got "Musst du die denn färben?". Liking literal translations, I would translate it as "Must you dye your hair then?" Here's the place where you can ask for help in almost any language :D It's a very active forum. http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=2074955 The Chinese version of Junge is so funny hahahaha I respect him for learning the language but I can't help but to laugh at the pronunciation. Much of the meaning and subtleties are lost too.

![]() I even translate they lyrics since they are quite good: Weltuntergangskommando - Orkan über Frankfurt (Frankfurt = city with the banking center of germany, comparable to wall street in the US) translated: downfall squad - hurricane above Frankfurt They stand like a stone in the surge so proud and self-righteous And no storm on earth could do harm to them they decide upon good and bad and their words are meant to last forever and pride nibbles on their podium and the fear in their eyes behind sunglasses we have seen it. chorus I just want to be a hurricane above Frankfurt for once One which contorts the toupees And roams around the houses just for pure delight and which crushes a little. Lost every ideal, forgetten what friendship means got lost in the garden of winners chosen the wrong way their words were words without a future and pride nibbles on their podium and the fear in their eyes behind sunglasses we have seen it. chorus I just want to be a hurricane above Frankfurt for once One which contorts the toupees And roams around the houses just for pure delight and which crushes a little. I just want to be a hurricane above Frankfurt for once I just want to be a hurricane above Frankfurt for once I just want to be a hurricane above Frankfurt for once One which contorts the toupees And roams around the houses just for pure delight and which crushes a little. I just want to be a hurricane above Frankfurt for once I just want to be a hurricane above Frankfurt for once Ich will nur einmal ein Orkan über Frankfurt sein Der ein bisschen die Toupées verdreht Der um die um Häuser zieht aus purer Lust und ein bisschen was zerstört I just want to be a hurricane above Frankfurt for once I just want to be a hurricane above Frankfurt for once
