I'm trying to learn some German but I forget the words easily because I almost never use it.
Please post some good music in German. It can be sung by anyone, of any genre from metal to traditional folk to soul. Preferably not club-pop. Also, It doesn't have to be slow. Most importantly, please post music you like so that I'll enjoy it and keep listening!
The only one I know of so far is Rammstein with something about snow white and the 7 dwarfs in the music video, forgot the title.

What I don't want is club-pop which is the top10 hits like Baby Baby or Akon's new stuff or Black Eyed Peas new stuff. It's not exactly what we would call pop a few years ago. Pop in general bores me but I still like a few so please keep posting what you enjoy!
I'd prefer a good song that I don't understand at all over one that I don't enjoy.
Generally what I like is something with musical content. I don't know how else to explain it but repeating a phrase 20 times in 3 minutes (like in club-pop) with autotune is NOT content. Just like 4 pooling every game. But don't worry about it too much. Please post what you enjoy if it isn't club-pop.
Does anyone know any of and bands that do "House MD-ey" music? The slow rock/soul type.
(electro) oliver koletzki has some songs with german text..., same for jeans team...
(Hip-hop/rap) i hate most of it but understandable and good german from: fantastische vier, blumentopf, schnabel, deichkind (they are pretty sarcastic), absolute beginner
(folk) if you get drunk in german speaking countries, you should know some udo jürgens (especially "griechischer wein") :D
that's about all that comes to my mind now, there is a lot more, but i most of the time hate german lyrics because it is mostly just bad written lyrics...
basically you can listen to anything from Reinhardt Mey. He speaks a clear and easy to understand german with only a few things that are hard to understand for foreigners.
When you want to learn more about german rythm, rhymes and metaphors then you should listen to Bodo Wartke and Max Raabe

Most of the German music I listen to has English lyrics so I dont know any good German music except for the really successful acts. These are some good songs though
And once we have taken the steps of mainstream music, you might look out for some german metal/folk metal bands like "Subway to Sally", "Die apokalyptischen Reiter" or "Abrogation", because they obviously use some different kind of (sophisticated) vocabulary, or on the Punk Rock side "Die Toten Hosen"
