I've always watched House because of how they build his character, as opposed to some other people who watch it for the comedy and for the "medical mysteries" (which are debatable, and in my opinion, predictable).
In the season premiere where he was in the mental institution, I thought that was some of the most brilliant writing I've ever seen in regards to character development. That whole season leading up to that was quite crazy, too.
This season seems to be kind of like a prime time soap opera so far, though. I realize that they're doing a lot of character development, and thus I should be enjoying it, but I don't know.. it just feels different. Will continue to watch it as always, but I hope there's more to it.

Not really sure where they are going with this. But at the moment it seems pretty awesome.
Lots of great moments in the episode, especially the ending.

Cuddy and House interactions were done extremely well. They shared some amazing scenes so far. On the other hand, I felt like the drama in the end was a bit over the top. To be honest it was ridiculous and unneeded, but that is just me.

In my hopeful opinion, these first 2 episodes were just definitions of boundaries between Cuddy and House so that they can get the awkward "Where do we stand now?" situations out of the way for the truly awesome stuff coming up. House always has the best last 3-4 episodes of a season.

i've been rooting for this house cuddy relationship thing since day 1, but now that they're together it doesn't seem natural. it doesn't feel like house, this tragic hero, like, SHOULD be happy, and i think they're going to address that in the season.
My prediction: House and cuddy break up mid season, get back together, cuddy gets pregnant.
cuddy HAS to get pregnant, they've been talking about how much she wants kids since like season 2. i mean i guess shes got one but she tried invitro and it didn't take. whats it gonna take? HOUSES DICK

I can tell you that one of the reasons I went to Med School was to become House:
1) I'm already a dick
2) I'm not very humble lol ... ie i'm smart
3) I like problems, particularly medical in nature
4) Hookers??? lol
oh ya, and I want to help people lol
Either way, I'm hoping that the season brings some more interesting cases in, maybe some that span several episodes as side-stories. Anything to distract from the whole House is a nice guy story-line (ie Cuddy).

Why? What has changed about it?
The episode formula has largely stayed the same (cases and epiphanies). House went through "rehab" but he's the same old jackass as always. They mix in drama on the side without making it too cheesy.

The one thing I hate about House is the patients. They almost always pick completely unattractive girls. I just wish there was like that hot blond that stalked House in every episode.  I know they're supposed to be sick so they can't look fabulous, but they don't have to be fugly like all the time.

I think they have been making up for it with hot doctors. Thirteen had better come back before too long.

This seasons 2nd episode was really good. Serious props to the writers.

This is true but the thing is, even a mediocre House is still WAAAAAAAAAy better than most of the show on TV.
