But he probably was pretty sure Rachel wasn't there since he saw the dinner table was served for only the guests. He also might have known that Cuddy's mother was looking after Rachel knowing he and Cuddy had dated for quite a while. I don't think he would've been fine with hurting Rachel, but he might've been okay with hurting everyone else. Also Wilson just noted a few hours earlier how House had taken a month's dose of vicodin in a few days, it's not like House was his most rational self to begin with. There's no way for him to know Rachel wasn't there, she's a toddler, she could have been playing with her dolls under the table for all he knew. He didn't know or care. Sure, if he killed her I'm sure he would have been full of remorse, but that's means nothing.
I've loved this show for a long time, but after tonight's finale I finally really hate the character of House. He's an irrational spoiled child and he needs to be thrown in jail, plain and simple. If they wimp out on the consequences for his behavior I'll lose all respect for the show.

Not only could he have killed everyone, he should have. When he first saw them all at the table, they were just sitting down and being served. There was really no reason for them NOT to be at the table when he came crashing through.

Well ... let's be honest... the only reason the series is that successful is because of hugh laurie. the storyline for some episodes suck hardcore, probably due to different writers, but that does not matter that much, because of the brilliant actor.
Also you can't fill 8 seasons just with case after case, puzzle after puzzle and solution after solution. the change throughout the series is fine... just a lot of plots aren't.
Hugh Laurie makes up for at, but the season 7 finale could have well been an overall series ending, as he is and has always been miserable, from the first episode of season 1 up until the last few shots at the beach, where he finally "didn't give a shit" and took some stride gum... wait.

The season finale was terrible, at least based on my expectations from the commercials. Doesn't live up to any of the previous season finales.

It's still better than 99% of the TV Shows out there. If you even think it's remotely possible to do better than the Season 4 finale, you're out of your mind.

I don't agree with this, the episode before the finale was amazing. I'm from the Netherlands so I follow the show online, and I really thought that WAS the finale after watching it. That last episode was just plain dissapointing compared to the rest of the season.
|
I also thought the 22 episode was the last one when I was watching. Now I think it should be. Maybe with a little bit alteration. Either way the season finale was just a plain disappointment. + Show Spoiler +Nothing happens, then he crushes his car into the house, the whole scene looks ultra-lame so he walks away and bam he's on a beach. That just made no sense even in the wicked sense House could believe in, while it wasn't funny, scary, shocking or anything.
No point in making that episode beside the fact that Cuddy won't be in the last season as I've heard. So I guess it might be that. They just added the episode to give her a reason to leave?
|
The writers screwed it up... what House did in the finale was totally out of his character. House isn't a psychopath that's out to physically hurt people period, and that's exactly what he could've done in the last scene. Sure he likes to screw with people's emotions and intellect, but running a car into Cuddy's house is a far cry from what House usually does even if he is angry and jelly at Cuddy.
|
Is it just me or has house actually just become a pathetic attention seeker this season, before it seemed like he genuinely didn't care, which was what made it interesting, now its pretty clear he does things to get reactions and validation from others even if he has to go to extremes, which is just lame.
|
Although I was pretty disappointed with the finale, saying that House couldn't have drove into her house is pretty close minded. His character has experienced many trials and then finally believes he can change and come back into Cuddy's life and is finally convinced by his patient that his job isn't his life, but when he gets there he finds that she "lied" (in his mind) to him about not seeing anyone, and infact was seeing someone and they seemed close.
I can easily believe he would do this. But episode was a big let down in its entirety.

The question I want answered:
How do they start season 8 with House back at the hospital and Cuddy not (since she isn't in season 8).
|
So since Cuddy isn't in Season 8 she probably will quit because of this incident or some shit like that --- my question is however since Cuddy and Wilson are both the "mature" friends of house does that mean Wilson will leave as well? Or will Wilson stay by House's side even though he was just as disappointed in House as Cuddy was at the end.

I've no info on this matter, I'm just guessing. The episode was not very well thought out, it also seems like it was a pretty "cheap" one. Anyway there you have a good enough reason for Cuddy to either move out and go somewhere far away since she still has feelings for him and can't confront him anymore after what he's done.
The police may or may not arrest House, but that doesn't really matter, either he'll be in the hospital or he'll lead the team from somewhere else.
|
I don't see where you are getting it is written specifically for her leaving
she rather blatantly stated 'if he comes anywhere near me OR MY HOSPITAL i want him arrested'
I can't see another hospital hiring him (black dude couldn't even get a job b/c he was too much like House), nor can I see them making a whole new environment for the last season of the show.

I was disappointed with the finale also. What he did was completely out of character or so I believe.. :/

there's zero indication from the episode that Cuddy will not be back for season 8.
yes, the actress is contemplating leaving the show, but i'm sure the show can convince her to stay on long enough to write an arc or something so that can write her character out naturally instead of in an extremely contrived way if she suddenly said "no, i won't do season 8".

its already been decided she isnt coming back. we're not judging from the season finale (there's very little incidcation that she wouldnt be back from that)

The reason why House threw everything away was because of the patient IMO. The patient threw her life's work away, or her ability to do her work. In comparison, house loves puzzles and he goes berserk when the patient made her decision because it puts his own work in question. House says it didn't mean anything for the work the patient did, and at the same time, he could have accepted that his work had little meaning also.
I think that reasoning is an addition to his decision to throw everything away after the last string was broke.

Gonna have to go watch the last episode now..
