LOL wut. while i have to say im semi disappointed by the finale, i dont think its as bad as some people hating on it say it is. Yes, it ended really abruptly, and the music at the end made him out to be like a rockstar rather than a man torn between guilt and vengeance. I think everyone was looking to see house's humanity at the finale. Cuddy was pushing for it throughout the episode, so was wilson. And when the patient caved in and decided to compromise her mind for human closeness, house raged out on her.
So he stuck to his guns and maintained his position. He rejects all of that fluffy stuff, and decides to do it in a bang. Which makes it consistent with his character.
Edit:
also wilson said house would be in a bar that matched his mood. The shittiest hole in the ground in new jersy. But he ends up in a sunny beach hawaii looking bar. So he's feeling pretty good about himself lol. One of the themes that was always oscillating in previous seasons was how human is house? Before cuddy's relationship he was kinda crazy and unpredictable mad scientist, and while he was with cuddy he seemed to be more human, so now that shes out of the equation he reverts back to that state of questionable humanity.

I don't see how you guys think there's no indication from the season finale that Cuddy won't be back.
Episode 22 seems like it's meant to be the last one. It has everything, the drama, the dark mood, the plot revolutions. If they simply added 5 minutes of closure, it's not the best season finale but a decent one.
Then the season finale comes and it sucks. Not everybody thinks so, but the majority does. It doesn't seem very well thought out and the whole "story" here is that House does something terrible to Cuddy. The reasons for doing so seem ridiculous. Since the writers don't even know what's gonna happen next, they send House to an island to confirm that he's alive and enjoying himself and anything can happen.
And then bam, we get to know that Cuddy is not playing in the next season of House.
But I guess we'll just see. I hope I'm not wrong, because that episode just sucked so hard that if it's the new standard, watching Season 8 might not be worth it. Also I hope Cuddy doesn't come back since I never got into liking that character / actress.

The car crash scene was jumping the shark. Did he want those people who were sitting there a second ago to all die? The patient did destroy his faith in life, but that doesnt mean he would want to kill people.
|
They all seemed to be getting up and moving when he saw them through the window. I don't think he would have minded to kill her new boyfriend. He said that he was hurt, and for a moment things were alright, maybe they could reconcile. Then he sees her turn around the day of and find a new boyfriend, and already he's at her house. Right after the art lady says to have faith in people, which at that moment, House was in conflict about.
He finally made the decision, since his breakup with Cuddy, to only live for himself. He got the heck out of dodge and is finally happy. You don't see if he is high at that point, but it doesn't seem like it.
I liked the season finale. I thought there were a lot of really cool ideas that the writers played around with, and of course it was acted brilliantly. I don't know what will happen next, however. They have given all of the characters such great stories. Talb has two kids incoming. 13 has her own story. Foreman doesn't seem to be as deep as the other two at the moment, because his drama with 13 has been kept to a low, but yeah. House returns to the United States, and he goes to prison. Easy as that. House will never return to that hospital again, due to Cuddy leaving and that entire thing. So what will they do? Will House find a new hospital to go to, and have all old characters gravitate there? Will House become more of a Royal Pains sort of guy? I doubt it highly, but it just seems like it will be hard to go to a season 8 from here. House would have to start completely anew, and I don't know if it will be able to pull it off.
|
I think its very unlikely that they'll complety change the setting. It's just so much easier to instead change that one character. Some shit's going to happen, but they'll end up back at that hospital.
|
I have absolutely no idea how they will do season 8, with the story line as it is, and without Cuddy too!
It kinda sucks that they had to film the season finale without even knowing if there would be a next season or what actors would be returning.

The way I picture Season 8 going is one of two ways:
1) House is on the run. During this time he finds random people to help. All the meanwhile he is keeping in contact with his team at the hospital (Foreman leads the team) and Wilson.
The season will have a nice focus on House outsmarting the cops while meeting people on the streets and getting more perspective on life, and of course everyone else's side stories.
In this situation I can see House going day by day living quite freely. However, in this scenario, I believe the cancer will eventually come back to haunt him. The season finale will have a huge focus on House and Wilson, where House finally comes to terms with having been way out of control. House is at the point where the pain is multiple times worse than before and is withering away; thus, in the end, Wilson euthanizes him, ending House's eternal suffering. The euthanizing will take place not in a hospital or any such place, but rather some kind of dump or alleyway, befitting of the darkness within House. Wilson leaves House's body there, alone, and walks away.
2) House is in prison. The series follows House's life in prison. He makes enemies and allies that feel indebted to him as he saves their lives from whatever illnesses they contract.
All the meanwhile he keeps in contact with his team and Wilson. They pay him visits and he gives them calls. He helps his team (once again, lead by Foreman) solve their cases. Insert side stories of team members here.
The focus in this scenario will be put on House's interaction with the members of the prison (guards, convicts, etc.) and House gaining more perspective on life. In this situation I can see the finale being House finally coming to terms with himself and wanting to actually live. In the last scene he is surrounded by convicts (or maybe even prison guards/swat team if they make it so there's a prison break in the last episode) and he fights for his life, though futile and we see him laying on the ground in a pool of blood. Pan the camera to close up on House's face in his final moments... and ache as House, for the first time that we've seen, sheds tears. Do we have him close his eyes here or no? Not sure if this will actually be the first time we see House cry.
Another possible situation for the finale would be House sacrificing his life to save the life of another convict. House has never been about saving lives; rather, he's always been about the mystery. House finds his humanity and goes out heroic. I can see this happening in the first scenario as well.

I just watched the finale and i wondered
When he drove into the room.. how would he know that NO one was in the room anymore? if they were in the room, like before, he would have killed them all. Makes you wonder..
ANYWAYS, I loved the season and wasted way too much money on it on itunes because i'm not cool enough (not one with the internets) to get it for free.
I liked Masters until the end, her standards really got annoying, and I'm really glad that Thirteen is back.
looking forward to season 8.. this has never failed to disappoint my interest like many other TV shows do.

I fancy the first one very much. But I'd like a dark, missanthropic finale better. Something in the likes of,House gets arrested and goes to prison. He then socialize with other inmates dealing with their problems and gaining status. The prison manager has a wife/son/daughter suffering from a very painful disease/mutation/something. In the finale,House gets a deal from the manager. To either cure his loved one and get a quick release,or die in there by someone bribed from the manager himself(House doesn't know that ofc). The condition of the patient is the most bizarre ever,House and his team get the thrills with it. House finally has to choose between saving his life but granting him a joyless one full of suffering(crippling him in the procedure mby) or letting him die and face the wrath of the manager, concluding in his death.

Is season 7 going to be the last ever season, or are they doing a season 8?

A simple google search or even looking through this thread would have answered your question.
Cuddy is done. Season 7 was her last season. I think that its confirmed that Season 8 will be the final one. There WILL be a Sesaon 8.

Damn Season 8 will definitely be weird.. why Cuddy why!? Anyway I wanted to ask if anyone knew what song was playing during House's hallucination in season 5 episode 24 "Both Sides Now" I've searched but All I found were the two songs that were playing during the patient's air guitar and towards the end of the last episode.

Does anyone know when season 8 will start?
|
House probably ended because Hugh Laurie quit for his Blue's career and Lisa Edelstein quit for no reason.
