Perma Jammed from 180K by a falcon. Fight took forever, I just was never un-jammed through out the entire fight.... and I was flying with Info link. It was by far the most retarded thing that has ever happened to me in a tengu. I was taking low damage, my shield rep could handle it. But i just couldn't shoot a single ship. That phantasm put my booster over the edge eventually, I had to heat. I think i had about 4 shots on it, before I was re jammed. Then after that it was just a slow and painful death. I understand in general terms how missile damage works, with respect to velocity and signature radius. But, looking at the original dev post, there are a ton of factors changing around. The velocity of heavy missiles is increasing, which should improve its damage against faster targets, but its base damage and range are decreasing. What am I supposed to get from this? Is this nerf making the ship worse than all the alternatives, or is it just bringing it into line with other ships with similar skill requirements? All those numbers in Ramiel's post probably mean something to people who have been flying the ships in question. To me those are just numbers. My reason for posting was to get the perspective of someone who has intuition for these ships' capabilities. | ||

Start with the assumption that I didn't know what they were good at before and don't know what the changes are doing to them. ![]() Heavy Missile Drakes already do low damage compared to other ships / weapon systems but make up for that by having a strong tank, not using capacitor to fire the missiles, not losing damage at range etc. This proposed change will nerf the damage from low to laughably low. On top of that they're losing a significant portion of their range. It's just a weird change, I'd be surprised if they go through with it as it is. | ||

It is basically a straight nerf to range and damage. This is on top of the Drake's rather weak dps. | ||
