Yeah I didn't expect that, it was all in good fun. I guess it's because the german community is not as competitive as the american or japanese. Except for the finalists, everyone in the tournament would be considered a scrub at tournaments like EVO. All the players, with very few exceptions (a transsexual qualified for the tournament and dressed up as Sakura lol), were pretty normal and fun guys, was a great weekend and I'm looking forward to the next tournament for which I'll train a lot more

Top 50 BP Japan character breakdown, from compiling data from source versuscity:
Sagat - 19 Ryu - 6 (includes Momochi's secondary) Akuma - 5 (includes Momochi) Abel - 3 Ken - 3 Chun Li - 2 C. Viper - 2 (includes Kindevu's secondary) Rufus - 2 (includes Kindevu) Blanka - 2 Zangief - 2 Dhalsim - 1 Boxer - 1 E. Honda - 1 Dictator - 1 Guile - 0 El Fuerte - 0 Claw - 0
edit: forgot originally to note that Momochi and Kindevu both have 2 different characters in top 50 (actually, top 20)
Keep in mind this is one of the first times (games) we have comprehensive data like this, and tournament results are going to be much more diverse than this because of the sample size of number of games played. It's especially true with Japanese tournament rules.

wow glad that kindevu keeps playing with viper. thought he stopped with her completely. speaking of kendevu
i think this a 3v3 tournament where people are put in random teams no matter wht characters they have. only explanation i can think of for the dbl sagat team and the dbl honda team in the finals (anchored by momochi funny enough)
Yea the jan match was hype and at the end everyone was like "WHY WERE WE NOT RECORDING!??? FUUUUUUUUUUUUU--" Check your PMs, I don't know where everyone I talked to was from
Also, posting to say I just got second in a local (state) tourney. that damn rahsaan from NY was visting family in louisiana and raped the hell out of me in winners/grand finals. Train rape in winners finals with his viper, so he took it easy on me with geif in grand finals but I still choked lol.
Expect more videos soon, this time with some of my losses to learn from! (Of course, winning (brag) videos will be posted the second I see them uploaded)

He says him and Marn are on a completely different level from the other top EC players. E.g. he says him and Marn beat Arturo and Long Island Joe badly.
He also says he'll play Rufus except for certain matchups: - Sagat vs Zangief - Abel vs Ryu - Balrog vs Balrog
I'm not watching continuously: I'm just paying attention from time to time.

In contrast to Mike Ross, who believes sticking to 1 character is best, Justin Wong believes it's better to counterpick.
Slasher asks if it's possible to achieve the same level of skill with multiple characters as someone who sticks to one character. Justin responds that it is possible. Furthermore, he says he plays with the entire cast.
Apparently Justin's maining Rufus in this tournament partially because his Rufus is very popular, whereas Marn is counterpicking all the way since he just wants to win.
Justin also says that the US is not too far behind Japan in SF4, since the mind games aren't as advanced and complex as 3s (due to the parry system in 3s) and there is a lot of comeback potential in SF4.
the bit about counterpicking is really interesting. I'm guilty of doing it too, but it definitely has the problem (especially since sf4 vs has unlimited character picking time) of racepicking in sc with 2 players not having a common matchup to play.
One character only certainly makes things simpler.
Also, the ease Choi was just walking people over with in HD Remix was scary. His SF4 ryu is impressive as well, but he was yawn raping people in hdr :D
Also, lololol at gootecks. What happened to that man in the last few months? :|
He was so good! Guess it's just too hard to keep up that level of play unless you're paid to do it.
