has anyone played it yet? is it worth the money?
I bought it but I didn't play it yet. Judging by some of the reviews I've read, it's more of the stuff that people liked in the original game, so I thought it'd be damn worth it. Five hours isn't that short exactly either, and with a storyline that is supposed to fill in one of the gaps in the first game, I'd be happy with it.
The DLC is decent, I've finished it and it took around 7h to get the 10 full achievements on hard mode.
The storyline is important and some of it relates to DE1, so fans will definitely want to check it out. The new characters are somewhat interesting, and the levels are better designed I think.
As for the drawbacks, £8.99 or 15$ isn't really that great of a deal at all. The gameplay offers nothing new, nor any new weaponry. The game is also very short. (Probably would have beat it in 4.5hr if I didn't achievement hunt). You can tell this level was originally designed for the main game but got pulled to trim it down, so that's somewhat underwhelming.
All in all, I probably would have waited for a price drop if offered the chance again, but it's still a good DLC if you don't mind paying it's full price.

What's that, he disagrees with you? Must not be as smart as you. Bosses that have repetitive patterns?!?! That's new to video games. There have never been good boss fights in which the boss had repetitive patterns. Not even the Metal Gear Solid games.
Yea i have different tastes for bosses and specially since i have been playing multiplayer FPS. What's your problem ?

Picks up when you leave shanghai in the stasis pod. also it was way to easy, i got so much ammo and grenades i dint even bother doing stealth. It was a ok DLC but not worth 15$
It was a lot funner and longer if you did the no praxis/no weapons route, some of the routes requires a bit of scavenging that way. I figured augs and weapons would trivialise it too much and make the 9£ I paid for it horrible value.

Why do I have a sense you are exaggerating, not playing on hard, or just steamrolled through the main story quests only?

I spent 35 hours on my first playthrough alone.
I think he means that it took him 3 hours to get the dlc done. I'm pretty sure you really cannot spend 35 hours on the dlc, although that would be totally awesome.
Maybe a little off-topic (and maybe not), after watching today's TEDtalks video video inside: + Show Spoiler +
like many other people on YT i just though that this is like watching some kind of intro for deus ex. And so I just wanted to say that this game coundn't have come out in a better time.
DLC is good. I don't get this idea bout DLCs always having some new weapons or whatever. Especially in DX, it's about interaction, choices, not having an arsenal to kill people. There have been games where I felt that developers felt forced to "invent" something which failed horribly and felt out of place - no thanks, don't do it to good games like DX. You want shooters - go play shooters. Action in DX is very satisfying as it is.
Completed DLC 4 times, same as original, completed all the achievements myself (which I'm immeasurably proud about). And now I just can't feel but to play through original once again, besides those retail pre-purchase dlcs came out only after I completed the game so I'll exploit them now (regarding my first statement about ridiculous weapons - UR-DED, Grenade Launcher and Double Barrel shotgun feel very out of place, sniper rifle, on the other hand, should have always been with silencer or at least with option to add a silencer).
I'm so bad at this game, I put all my skills into hacking and stealth related abilities but it's getting to the point where I have no patience to wait for people to pass me by so I can sneak. Sometimes I'm just put into awful combat situations and I'm just effed. Boss battles have been OK for me so far, and I took someone's advice (I believe Hoon's) to invest in the Typhoon since it does a ton of damage.
How much easier is it to kill people when you start augmenting your combat? Do you not die if you get shot 3 times?
