+ Show Spoiler +I just beat deus ex, and i have to say its one of the best games ive played in a while, i enjoyed every minute of it.
but it seemed a little short for me, i did all but one side quest, according to the achievements(i think theres an achievement for everyone, might be wrong) and it took me 13 hours
anyway, im going to have to beat it without killing anyone next time on hardest difficulty, that sounds really fun ^-^

13 hours? Whoa, took me 26, and I did all the side missions minus 2 (and I had the beta experience so Detroit was a breeze)

Question about Cassandra Reed sidequest:
+ Show Spoiler +Is there any way to get into Cpt Penn's computer without upgraded hacking? Pretty much cased the entire police station and killed every officer and can't find a pocket secretary or anything. Really find it annoying how much emphasis is placed on hacking in this game. If there's no way to get Cpt Penn's login I'm pretty sure that makes two sidequests that straight up require upgraded hacking.

Finally finished the game, love it so much. A question about the ending though + Show Spoiler + Does the narrative always say 'i abused technology and caused pain' or did that happen cuz i killed one guy too many?
And after i beat the game i looked through the achievements and saw the 'kill nobody' one. i doubt i landed over 2 dozen kills but damn, seems rough. gonna do it on hardest difficulty of course :D

^ As you suspected, that line does try to adapt to how much mayhem you caused. Also watch out, because the "kill noone" AV also includes the first tutorial mission (the attack on Sarif Industries when you're not augmented yet)
The guy inquiring about Cassandra Reed: I am pretty sure that the PW to his PC can be found + Show Spoiler +in the sewers on a pocket secretary with all the police station logins. It's behind a punchable wall.

Good to see AnharisStarcraft playing through Deus Ex on his Youtube channel, gives the game more coverage

+ Show Spoiler + Use the exploding barrels or the EMP grenade that are lying around. Like everything else in this game, no planing is needed, any item you might need in a situation is put in your lap *sigh*.
Are you seriously complaining the game isn't HARDK0RE enough for you because it doesn't make you plan ahead for an event you have no way of knowing about, with enemies you have no way of knowing about, by reloading five saves back to a hub to buy random items? + Show Spoiler +God I'm sick of you children whining that a game isn't hard enough. I got these same retarded replies elsewhere when I complained about bosses needing you to carry weapons(and a lot of ammo) due to having to be killed despite being on a knockout only run. It isn't "the game making it easy" on you by putting weapons in the first boss' room, it's the game giving you an ability to do something that you have no way of planning for. Shush it. Yup! That's exactly what I'm complaining about. If you don't keep a few EMP grenades handy and various types of weapons and ammo for possible upcoming situations then quite frankly you deserve to struggle through certain parts of the game. You see "us children" remember games of a decade or so ago where you weren't mollycoddled by developers and you generally had to use your brain. I know the feeling. I still have a tendency to be a perfectionist in first person shooters. I try not to use my stronger weapons at all, thinking I may need them in later confrontations.

There's a difference between challenge and unfair challenge. Go play IWBTG.

I'm all for challenges and stuff. But what happens if you get caught in a room with a few robots. the robots only really die to emp nades or rockets. if neither were in the room (or level) what do you do? It only keeps like 2 previous saves right? You'd have to go back a whole section or whatever. be totally lame. If it was a purely open world (ie: go anywhere anytime) then sure. You go "oh shit" get out and go find some. but because the dx3 experience is somewhat linear, there needs to be those kind of concessions made.

I am personally playing the Stealth Approach, but I am also killing lots of people as I'd rather shoot them in the back of the head and not of them wake up . I am playing on the hardest difficulty too and have little to no trouble with robots. The heavy rifle +cover is pretty good against them if you run out of emp nades.

I agree that crucial paths shouldn't be blocked like that, without any means to get through if you don't have the correct loadout.
However, players should be rewarded for foresight. Let's say there is a room with couple of robots and a terminal. If you can get rid of the robots, you are free to hack the terminal and got yourselves some nice weapon mod, praxis kit or story hint. If you can't, there is a vent shaft around the room, allowing you to bypass the robots (and the reward).
But I believe DEHR kind of does it, through the augs. You don't neccessarily need high hacking or breaking through walls to progress through story, but you could get some nice bonuses if you have these ablities.

So far into this game (still in Detroit) I find older similar games like Vampire Bloodlines superior to this game.

Robots die to guns, but it takes a lot of ammo.

because if everything else goes to shit, you can always walk around crouched to get past everything.
no, you won't save malik that way, but it doesn't "stop" the story.

Generally you'll get rewarded for whatever route you chose to take and end up where you want to be reasonably close to each other.
Going through vent -> Get XP bonus from exploring Punch through wall -> Same deal Hack a terminal -> XP/Money from nodes Clear an area -> Xp from kills/takedowns+ Ammo and other shizzle lying around
The same logic applies to situations where you can be helped by having specific things. For example, + Show Spoiler +If you want to save Malik and don't have EMP/Typhoon nades saved up, you'll find 4 exploding barrels around to destroy the Robot quickly. If you're having problems on the first/second/third boss, you'll find Ammo/nades/Barrels around to use instead.
The overall point is that you can speedrun or just generally be unprepared, and always be able to advance from an area if you use the environment or your Augs. And that's what makes this game so good.

I didn't have enough ammo to kill them. I didn't have enough hacking skill to disable the robots via the console. i had no rockets or emp grenades left. If they didn't stash an emp nade in the draw in one of the upstairs buildings i would've been completely stuck.

Thinking about doing Foxiest of Hounds run.
But what exactly counts as an alarm? Since if it's the alarmed state enemies go to when they think they might have seen something, I probably can't be bothered.

for the guy about cpt. penn- theres a vent and its awesome.
