Hahaha, I'm glad I'm not the only one who sometimes feels this way with NBA players. It makes no sense, either. Of course the millionaire superstar athlete is better off at the same age. :|

I remember when Phelps was winning all those medals at age 18, i went to my 18 year old brother and said, how bad does that make you feel that you are the same age as him, just to be a smart ass 13 year old. Well fuck did that end up backfiring.

Meh. Pacers are just capable of laying an egg from time to time. They just picked the wrong time to go cold is all. Going 7 games is still a win in their eyes especially considering they would have gotten swept by SAS. I think Spurs beat Miami easily here in the finals.

I agree. Consistency and dedication always wins.
Depends. I never thought I'd say this but the Heat are hella inconsistent, see game 3/7 Heat and they win easily, see game 6 Heat and they get stomped. Was Wade really injured or just not trying? If the 2nd, he better try for this one. Can Bosh actually rebound like he did game 7?
Depending on which Heat team shows up they still have a pretty good chance. Consistency matters, yes, but the Heat only have to show up for 4 games, and they're more than capable of doing it.
Funny story if not an "unfortunate mistake." What do people think the actual chances are of the Hawks, instead of a team like Dallas, have of getting both Howard AND CP3 together? Not the best basketball town but they have a shit ton of cap space to work with ( http://www.hoopsworld.com/atlanta-hawks-team-salary ) .

Referring to the series, not the season. If this was regular season Heat playing the Spurs I wouldn't have any doubts about who would win.
So yeah, injuries, but that doesn't mean they'll go away for the finals.

I think they have a chance of one but not both. I don't know how legit this is but I also heard that Dwight doesn't want to play there despite him being from around there.
I think I'd rather see both CP3 and Howard in Dallas (given I'm a mavs fan) and see how well they do under a competent coach (understatement, but Rick Carlisle).
Hasn't ATL had some of the worst attendance in relation to team success and market size for years? Not sure how well-known that is, but that can't help attract FAs.
And I think it's extremely telling that Howard has never mentioned Atlanta in any of the rumor mills he's started, given it's his hometown. I don't think he wants to play there.
This looks eerily similar to last year. Everybody last year thought that the Thunder would dominate Miami, having rolled into the finals with 4 straight wins over the unbeatable offensive juggernaut Spurs while Miami stumbled into the Finals with a 7 game battlefest with Boston and injuries to Wade and Bosh.
It turned out that Miami really dominated that series (though people will argue that I am sure), holding the lead for nearly the whole series except Game 4, a game they won anyway.
I just can't doubt Miami, even against a team and organization as great as the Spurs. When their backs are against the wall, Miami literally looks like it has a Turbo button that no other team has where they just suffocate you and attack the paint relentlessly in ways that nobody can stop. I think San Antonio will present some problems that the Pacers could not: elite ball movement, great three-point shooting from 3-4 players on the court at all times, and Tony Parker. However, Splitter and Duncan are not Hibbert and David West (or even Tyson Chandler from 2011). Lebron and Wade will have better success attacking the paint, and Bosh won't be matched up against physical and bruising bigs that impose their will on you on both ends.
Just knowing how Miami responds to things, I really think their ultimate challenge was Indiana due to matchups. Being free of Roy Hibbert I feel like those guys are going to attack the rim relentlessly all series, like their kids have been held from them for a week or something. I think Miami will have a lot success offensively, especially Wade and Bosh. The question is whether they can defend the Spurs or not and contain Tony Parker.
