lol apparently I can open PS at work, but can't get connected to the servers. Enough to open team builder and watch replays though.

Yeah, I figured that out when I loaded it up on a different computer before and I didn't have any teams lol.

Good thing I always kept an importable copy of my teams somewhere.

I'd be down to play a series (the bigger one this weekend or w.e?). Haven't really decided on a PS team but I have a few that I spammed ladder on for fun.

Thinking of building a team around Pinsir, but dunno what to use? Is Mega pinsir better? Or should i try to setup a baton pass -> Moxie abuse set?

There is literally no reason to use Pinsir without its Mega Stone. Anything Pinsir does, Heracross does better in every way. Mega Pinsir is the only way to use Pinsir without it being horribly outclassed.

you'll want a foolproof defogger for sure that can soak up elementals. Latias would probably be your best bet, to start.

you'll also want something that can dispose of rotom-w before you come in to sweep, but nothing really reliably deals with rotom-w. I would say your best bet is to stack things that rotom needs to come in on so it wont be healthy for pinsir's sweep. and steel types are a problem as well, like genesect, ferrothorn, skarmory, etc. Magnezone perhaps.

pinsir/magnezone/latias should be a good start

What kinda moveset would you be running? I'd assume 252atk 252spd, with adamant?

Maybe Quick Attack, Return, X-Scissor and Sword Dance.

A moveset like Return/Quick Attack/Swords Dance/Earthquake is standard. Since Mega Pinsir's ability powers up all Normal moves by 30% and makes them Flying-type, Quick Attack and Return are actually incredibly powerful moves, especially when you factor in stuff like STAB and Swords Dance. Earthquake is honestly all the coverage you need; Skarmory is basically the only thing that Flying/Ground doesn't do much to, and even if Pinsir used Close Combat instead, it won't get past Skarmory anyway. It's therefore better to use the fantastic coverage from Flying-type Return and Earthquake.

Adamant is great for more power, but Jolly is generally the way to go, despite your having great priority. Without Jolly, any positive-nature base 100 Pokemon, such as Garchomp, outspeed you and give you a rough time. If you have paralysis support or ways to deal with Garchomp and friends, the extra power from Adamant is welcome. It really depends on your team.

Adamant is great for more power, and your amazing priority move makes Jolly not as necessary, but Jolly is still an option if you need to outpace specific threats.

I see, so starting with Magnezone/Latias aswell, what would be good for them?(i'm basically a gen behind and movesets are lost on me atm)

Is there any use for weezing since explosions been nerfed?

Was running one on another team but besides will o wisp he doesnt seem to provide a whole lot
Was basically running this on weezing :
Lung Cancer (Weezing) @ Black Sludge
Ability: Levitate
Shiny: Yes
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature
- Pain Split
- Will-O-Wisp
- Flamethrower
- Explosion

In my opinion, Magnezone is not as threatening in X and Y, because Steel-types in general are less common, and those that remain can beat Magnezone. Latias is all-around a great choice with several viable movesets. Do you want Latias to be a bulky attacker, a wall?

It slipped my mind that Magnezone can readily take out Scizor, who poses a major threat to Latias. If you want to use Latias, Magnezone is actually a pretty good partner after all.

Skarmory has fallen off in usage, due to it losing its Ghost and Dark resistances. It's by no means a bad Pokemon, but it's also not the omnipotent presence it was before.
