My first impression from the pictures: 3D is a big step, I hope they pull it off... and I hope it'll work on regular DS.

I only wish they'd break the Grass/Fire/Water starter thing up... would love to see some other types just to make it interesting, but hey, I'm not complaining.

I hope they continue the trend with BW with a whole new world and little/none old generation pokes in the first playthrough. It make BW so refreshing, especially after the crap that was DP.
Or.. finally expand the game beyond a single region (yeah, I can dream).

Looks like the attack animations will take even longer. No need for that, there is Pokemon Stadium.

Unless they significantly improve the gameplay and restore some nostalgia value (by mixing generations in the first playthrough instead of giving us 150 new every time), I'm not gonna bother.

This, personally I never understood the point of adding new ones. Sure, a few new pokemons per game to have something exotic... but the first generation is classic and is what people SHOULD be thinking about when they think about pokemons, every other pokemon is just filler BS.
They should just make Pokemon Red/Blue in 3D. New world etc is OK, but no new damn pokemons, the first 150 are still the best.

I don't agree with this, I for one always expect what change they'll bring to multiplayer with new movesets, new pokemons, typesets and mechanics.
Also, one game focused only on the original 150 would be neat, but I wouldn't play a second one.

I'll put on the Japanese logo's once I have some time and can find them. Those are interesting because they have a DNA helix in them. So it might be related to that. Just like how Black and White weren't randomly chosen because they ran out of colours but was effectively a part of the story.
And looking at the starters it gives me a Generation II vibe which wouldn't surprise me considering that V was kind of a mirror of the first generation.

well only gen 1 & 5 use colors for naming. Gen VI will be full-blown 3D so I guess naming the three games (yes they imply a third one already) X-Y-Z for dimension sake is reasonable
Aside from new type combination, new moves and mechanics etc, I would love to reduce the number of legendaries to half of that in BW. Damn it since gen 4 the uber legends aint special anymore

Look at the logo, the X and Y are related to DNA stuff. So think in that direction.

Water frog dude looks like a total pimp, The little gopher looking grass dude looks like a total bro, and that Firefox looks awesome. the legendaries actually look incredible, instead of the "rawr imma giant monster" that they've been doing as of late.
