Haha, 2 bears for me, but just the one was needed to 1-shot me, by definition ;D Liking the game so far, I don't know if I picked the right class nor if I'm picking the right stats and talents for it, but I'll play it a first time without thinking super ahead and researching every build on the internet first :D I haven't even read the rules.

I'm a Barbarian not a templar but got to max out on stats. : (

Don't think it'd be possible if you cant get to that little room without dying, though. All of my guys were level 4, for reference; 2x chanter, fighter and wizard, hard difficulty.

If you care about minmaxing mainly might, intelligence and constitution matters for you.

And that +1 might also be the difference between a conversation option showing up or not. I'm not actually trying to min/max on my first playthrough either, I'l just rather have +2 of something thats slightly useful and wear that silly helmet than not have that +2.

I am not sure what is missing or what is just too much, but I just don't dig the combat system at all :/. So far it just feels like spamming the /combat abilities as much as possible and use the other abilities just as seldomly as possible tot save them in case you run out of campfires. Yeah it's a bit hit and miss. I kinda appreciate the feeling of attrition, but i feel like it goes too far. Combine that with the engagement rules and i've never felt this salty about casters in my party. Usually they're something i want, but so far they feel like a burden with no upside.

Perception is not meant to make you a interrupt monster by itself. It is all part of the build. You have to get best interrupt weapon and then with lots of perception it becomes better.
