Retreat paths for armies that have just lost battles will now always properly check if the path is blocked by forts. If you enter battle while in an enemy province with a fort, you will be treated as the attacker in battle and incur that province's terrain penalties. | ||

Personally ill always keep forts around my border and dismantle the ones far inside i.e where no one is ever gonna get to | ||

Ottomans and France are Your biggest threats (Poland is dengerous only after they kill Teotonic Order) Another good thing to do is to go to war with burgandy and just take their capital, unless they changed it it'll assign their new capital inside the HRE which will give you a huge boost to IA early. another thing is you can do the bug to get part of saxony for free, its really a matter of keeping the states size small while keeping them alive. when reformation hits you want to force convert everyone and force release as many states as you can. its alot harder to do now since you cant get france as an ally, but if you can revoke or at worst pass the reform to stop wars by like 1620~ you should be in great shape to form HRE and crush all of europe. Only other paradox game I've played is CK2, which I bought last year...only played it once. ... And by once I mean 170 hours in like a month (to be honest it was padded a bit by leaving the game on when leaving the computer and stuff but holy shit addictive). | ||
