i do like -sm in pub games ( i can play both) , but thats mostly because it goes a lttle faster and can get more games in. That basically the only reason to play pub games, farm and make yourself uber;O

It turned 24-1 (and end of the game) when the screenshot was taken. Anyway it was not -sm and as you can see I've had about 5k gold there, just didn't want to be rude and own too much ^_^

I want to learn some good Item BOs for Vengeful Spirit. Some people recommend S&Y, others Luther's Edge, and their are, obviously, numerous other options as well. What works best, in a general sense, and what should be used when? Any good swapping places/techniques that I should know about? What type of heroes are good with her, and who are her antithesises (is that a word?). Also what skills should I get first? Stun, Terror, Stats, or increase damage (passive AoE).

Also what do you think of the new patch. Clinkz got nerfed huge. Thoughts? Any thoughts about the two new heroes?

i go stun stats for venge, ulti, aura a bit later

stats for me because of two reasons: could spam bolt, nd to boost my life,

items: a lot of my friends do use those items but i would prefer lothars more so you could swap then ww. After that get any items which add hp and something else (e.g. skadi) my personal preference is guinsoo bec, i am kind of a support player nd i could disable three opponents at the same time.

for swapping: when you see are pushing nd u see an enemy hero alone swap it, in team battles it would differ but mostly we swap the soft disablers(ww after swap if you have lothars or just run away!). dont swap lich or brad. lol (remembered some funny moments when a player did that). for hero killing, at the start when the enemy gets too close or in range of your tower, swap him then stun then money shot for the kill (the scourge/sentinel may steal it), you could prolly hunt and kill most heroes if they're below full health (though it is easier if he/she is an agi/str hero).

Generally, reserve swap for team battles, or use it when ur hunting down a hero (take care btw: if the hero is not alone cuz ur hp is very pretty)

two new heroes: mercurial - don't bother I personally hate that hero. No one has used Mercurial and owned in the LAN shop (129 square) which I frequent. Maybe he will be buffed, dunno

witch doctor- most fucked up money shot in the game. Good luck farming, though he can own when you get good items just have luck getting any of them. And the last time I played, wards is not immune to dmg from spells so >.<

if you get lothar's, use it to get in a good position to combo the hero, not to ww after you've swapped it. or i guess you could ww after you swap and mm, but i don't see why you would do that since the enemy hero is stunned. and if it's a group battle you ww away from the melee will not help your team come out on top. i'd personally get at least one mkb and or buriza with most agi heroes - the chance for additional damage goes very well with the IAS you get as agility.

uhh a good mercurial is very hard to kill. plus item dropping doesn't apply when you're phase shifted, which is just super. witch doctor is retarded, unfortunately, although using a lothar's with him to sneak the ward in is a half decent strategy.

Clinkz's WW movement speed boost nerf was desperately needed, and I think more nerfing could be in the works. As for the new heroes, I'd say the WitchDoc is better than Mercurial (not in pubs tho) but the stun animation needs to change to something a bit quicker.

try getting safelisted for TDA games on east. they're all inhouse and most players are mannered, and the competition is basically analogous to gamei.

vs starting should be boots, bracers, and lane with a friend with basilius if possible.

Starting item should always be a ring of regen with as many branches as you can buy.

Then you buy boots.

You can always tell who the newbies are because they have boots first.

(They don't have any lane control either, but we aren't even going to get into that)

there are good first items, but no set of starting items, you wanna go ring of regen and branches with zeus first or sobi mask + others? adapt to the situations, if you have good control early you really shouldnt even need the ring unless you plan on a meka later

I only read the first post. And I disagree. Spellcasters are very powerful heros. (Especially if you're opponent picks someone like clinkz since when I was Slayer, I would specifically hunt Clinkz when he was in game to the point where I killed him like 10 times thanks to wards.) Lich is one of the best heros since it's a team game. Lich makes experience between between you and your opponents which makes your team better. Assuming they didn't nerf dark ritual and frost nova since the last time I played. (5.64 or something like that)

i agree, starting items vary from one hero to another though i am a bit partial to having an hp regen item first. RoR is a good starting item but there's no point buying it if you're going to buy a RoH later. If you do that, you'll be what we called an overly "safe" player lol.

I think what you should ask is not what item is good for you to start with but what items are necessary for your survival. This varies of course with your play style, hero choice, etc.
