You buy them for 1.5m, then to switch back to regular costs 500k and then have to buy em again. It's soo broken.
Also had the lame premade squad LRM team match last night. Stopped playing again. This game needs a few more months of work.

Like literally all 8 people just standing on the big hills near their base... just waiting for some1 to get bored and walk towards their base...gets really old really fast. I am guessing this is mainly due to low build variety as people dont have much credits to buy different stuff. The non-founders mainly use the trial Awesome (maybe the best trial mech) which has 2 LRM15. And the founders use the founders Atlas, which has one LRM 20 at the start. On top of that there are very few mechs with AMS at the beginning, making LRMs even more effective than normal. The result is a lot of assault mechs with LRM on the field. I am playing the trial Awesome myself to farm up, although I normally never play LRM boat. Will switch to Dragon once I have enough money. Pretty much this, as the Open beta reset everything many players are stuck in the trials of them 3 have LRM's and the awesome is essentially a lrm to soften up then poke at the enemy. Those that are not in trials have either the Founder's Atlas(which has an LRM 20(and I believe can fit 2 if it so desired) the c1 catapult which is an actual Fire support mech with twin LRM 15's The biggest issue I have right now is the removal of collision from closed beta. With the introduction of the Cicada, those and light mechs are essentially just running threw mechs without worry of anything. I know it'll be put back in but the best way to deal with those that I've seen are Streak carrying Catapult a1's. Still can't figure out a first mech to buy, torn between three of them. Oh and Parnage in game, I know we had some sort of Merc company forming up but I am unsure if it's still active if it is do let me know. Addition: Double Heatsinks are going to be hotfixed soonish according to a source I talked to(o_O...yeah I have sources now.)

It has a better hardpoint distribution if nothing else. I'm running it weird, with LRMs and Large Laser, not sure if I'll keep the loadout, but it's working nicely for now.

If you want to go AC20 get the H variant! instead of 3 Ballistic in the shoulder you get 1 ballistic 2 laser. gives much ore options since dual ac2/ac5 is pretty bad in my opinion

After all the build planning i've done the changes made them obosolete and i didnt test the new features. Now that purchases matter i've essentially wasted a ton of CB which i got from MC purchase and resell. I got other games to play atm so i'll wait for this game to flesh out. The no collision thing is stupid.

Light mechs don't want to know the pain i can inflict with this 4 ML's 2SSRM Streakback. Heh, my 4SP has 2xLRM5, 2xLLas. It's very much a support-ish mech, it can either soften things up, or get into tight positional areas and pop in and out sniping. My 4H has a UAC5, 2xMPLas and some spare heatsinks. More brawly, but the UAC5 lets me pop off shots from cover, and that gun lets you hit way the hell above your weight class if you know how to avoid taking focus fire. If this video gave you chills when you were younger, you have no excuse not to be playing this game. + Show Spoiler +

Hm, Personally I prefer the 2x6SRM due to it stupendous damage output, rarely I end up with less that 400 damage dealt and scoring a kill or two in a match is a norm. Max damage dealt by this baby so far is 976 with K/A of 6/1 It just fits so good with my play style.

I prefer either LRMs to soften things up before positional play with lasers, or an AC on a -4H model. UAC5 MPLas. Both very positional.

Hope this helps Moose, the learning curve for MWO is a tad steep compared to what's been put out. It'll take some time to get used to how the game plays but it's addictive once you get into it. The stock trial mechs are not ideal but they can do work so don't be discouraged by defeats, you just need to find the one you enjoy playing with. If you have any questions feel free to ask me. ^-^

Centurion is a solid choice so long as you use your shield arm to protect you by absorbing enemy fire, the Dragon isn't terrible just very strange to play. The Awesome is most likely ones best bet for a starting trial simply because it's an Assault mech allowing for you to take a good amount of punishment due to being new with the game. It also allows for things like some LRM fire support and the twin large lasers can do work versus softened up targets.
