Not even anger issues. Just for months people come in these threads and post nonsense and shit the thread up. Luckily Cyric is a really nice guy and ignores it.

You can't bother Dirk with 1 guy anymore.

Best series ever. Good job Dallas, I thought you guy would be easier. Either way Miami will finish these at your home court. We lost that second game on purpose to rip through your home court :D

Even if the underlying shot had no chance whatsoever of going in.
You don't call your fouls to see if the ball has a chance of going in. Where the hell does this notion come from? Better yet, how do you know that shot wasn't going in if he didn't get hit?
It's not a bail out on a jumper, maybe if he was driving and the refs were letting them play, but it was a jumper.

It's like the refs are compensating for the '06 Finals in this series. Miami had twice as many fouls called on them. Kind of funny when LBJ and Wade are on the team, and it's not like they aren't driving against the zone...

There is really no need to downplay Haslems defense there. Sure Dirk makes a lot of those shots anyway, but these are still hard.
He just needs more help, Barea and Terry still shooting pretty badly and Stojakovic is just doing nothing anymore.

He got some ball-sweat in his eyes and then grazed after the shot. He didn't try to make the shot, he tried to get fouled, such actions should not be rewarded.

The Teamliquid community is the worst group to discuss anything with. If it isn't about lag, it's about jet lag and if it isn't about jet lag, it's about the fucking referees. Shut the fuck up about things that will never ever change. Referees miss calls EVERY GOD-DAMNED GAME. I'm not sure how the NBA has survived, but it has. If it bothers you that much, just stop watching the product. I thought we had an actual discussion about the value of athleticism vis-a-vis skill/scheme a few pages back but no...we have to talk about fouls.

I also thought the refs were very pro-mavs in this game. Two Mia offensive fouls were questionable, followed by a non-call on Lebron. That got Dallas a huge lift at a critical time. Sadly, they blew it.

27 fouls on Miami, 14 on Dallas. 27 FTs for Dallas, 15 for Miami
Points in the paint: Miami 40, Dallas 22

Miami was +18 for points in the paint yet -13 fouls. For them to win that game was a miracle given the circumstances.
Edit: heh Shmay had the same idea.

That's what I'm talking about, all these Heat haters say we abuse the fouling system. Who's abusing of it now.

You guys usually do =p
Its just that this game was absolutely trash by Dallas, they keep getting bailed out by stupid (what may or may not be) fouls and still can't score. Missing Haywood seemed to really hamper the Mavs this game, Wade kept posting Kidd up IN the paint.

Unfortunate loss, Dirk was making all those off-balance shots but missed the most significant one. Though, Kidd and Barea missed so many easy open pointers.
Wish the refs would do a better job on all those botched calls.
edit: The Lebron travel and then a double-dribble was pretty fail.

It does feel this way, especially after tonights game. There were a ton of loose ball fouls called at the end of the game when the foul on lebrons was a pretty obvious foul that wasn't called. Although I feel that miami needs to play better. They dominate the mavs in spurts but then also can't seem to score for the life of them.

Interesting. Flip Miami with Dallas and you have the Boston-Miami and CHicago-Miami series!

Some info on Nowitzki's special drill routines, never heard of it or seen it.
http://www.slamonline.com/online/nba/2011/05/dirk-nowitzkis-unique-shooting-drills/
"Dirk’s unconventional game is by no means an accident — every strange (yet incredibly effective) move he pulls off in a game is a result of hours and hours of practice and repetition. Here’s a snippet from the Star-Ledger, but be sure to read the entire thing: “On the morning of May 21, the ESPN crew working inside the TV truck on the loading dock at the Ford Center in Oklahoma City looked up at their monitors to behold an extraordinary sight.
They were there to merely test their cameras for the third game of the Dallas-OKC series that night, but their focus was now on a 65-year-old man with a gaunt face and humorless eyes, silver patches on the sides of his head, and freakishly long arms. Holger Geschwindner took off his pants without any concern for who was watching, then pulled on his sweats, and when he was done he and Dirk Nowitzki began their workout … ‘And then, it just got crazy,’ said Bob Salmi, whose pals rolled cameras and captured it from every angle. ‘It was a 50-minute workout, and one of the most bizarre things I ever saw in basketball.’ … Geschwindner had him doing stuff like this: • A pirouette at the foul line, spinning 360 degrees off one shoulder and shooting; then reversing the spin and shooting. You get dizzy just watching it. • One-footed jumpers — both right and left, both with leg extended and knee bent — from every mid-range angle, with or without glass. All of it is the kind of up-the-ladder stuff you pull out to finish a game of H-O-R-S-E. • Something we’ll call the Groucho Marx: He’d take two long strides while still in a crouch, pick up a rolling ball, then shoot. Going both ways. • The Eiffel Tower: Dirk spreads his legs as far as they can go (say, 2½ feet beyond his shoulder width), reach over to touch a foot with both hands, and then catch-and-shoot from that very awkward, open position. This is the one that makes every male shield his eyes.”

Except Miami actually plays a style that forces fouls on the opponents with their multiple superstars, and none of these other teams have that. Boston is pretty much a jump shooting team with all of their old bones, and Chicago is pretty much Rose slashing and shooting bad jumpers. The foul and FT differential actually made sense for those series. It doesn't in this one.

Disagree with regards to Chicago, agree with regards to this series. Chicago should have been about even with Miami considering it had fewer penetrating players but much better rebounders. However, 1 game is not a series.
