that's not flopping bro, that's just selling a charge. still slimy, but not as bad as outright flopping.
flopping is like what lebron did last night: d-rose swings for the ball, gets air, lebron reels back like anderson silva just front kicked him to the face.
the nba already rescinds technical fouls and flagrants after the game if they catch a flop. they really should start dishing out fines too, though

this is the same logic that the guy in the states used when he won the lottery, yet still collected food stamps because the law had a silly loophole.
everyone knows flopping is disgraceful, and "doing what it takes to win" is a bullshit cop-out. both the players and the league are at fault. only thing that will fix it is to start handing out 50K fines for flops.
You didn't watch the play carefully enough. Lebron rebounds the ball. Rose goes for the steal. Rose hits either Lebron's hand or the ball. This causes the ball to stay up closer to Lebron's chest. As James comes down from the rebound and brings his head down (looking forward, instead of looking up) he hits the ball with his head. Thinking it was contact from Rose, he sells it.
I'm not sure if I agree with you about flopping. I agree that the league should punish flopping. But until they do, I can't blame a player for doing everything within the rules to win.
LOL check out that smirk toward the end. best basketball player in the world
I apologize for the profanity which is more suitable for a youtube outburst than anything else
Big trade rumor via Chris Broussard: details. The picks don't matter really, I don't think much of Irving or Williams, BUT, Richard Hamilton bought out? The Bulls must be drooling, they can run him off screens just like the Celtics do with Ray Allen. And they can sign him with their mid-level, making the team very formidable.
Except Rip Hamilton isn't Ray Allen. Good fit for Chicago but I don't know if that's going to get them over the hump. First and foremost Derrick Rose needs to work on his game and get that mid range jumper back. The way Miami was defending him it was like they were just toying with him after Game 2.
It's a question of value. I want to emphasize what a huge improvement Rip Hamilton is over Kyle Korver. The Bulls would be amazing with Hamilton because they'll actually have an offense. He's just worth so many more points than the SG platoon the Bulls were using this season.
Yea and while he won't be playing Keith Bogans defense he's one of the better SG defenders in the league. His screen game and catch and shoots are exceptionally valuable so it comes down to Thibs fixing the offense and Rose becoming a better play maker/shooter.
Really the offense should be centered on Boozer in the post with Rip coming off screens, and just let Rose destroy everything once they open up the floor.

That's your plan? A Boozer-centric offense? He needs to get his vertical back before I think that is a viable option.

Has Boozer ever had a vertical? Sure he's buff, but true 7 foot centers destroy him.
Boozer has never had a vertical. He's a banger and a mid-range shooter that also happens to hit a lot of shots when given the chance.
The problem with Chicago is that they never gave him the chance. He's taking a lot of blame for his defensive problems (rightfully so) but his offensive game is top notch.

What you guys think of Kemba Walker? being in toronto, we hope he stays around until the 5 spot ... anyone think he might get grabbed before that?
It's too bad the raptors didn't get a top 3 pick and a chance at Kyrie Irving.
i dont think the raptors need a star pg right now ... they wouldnt be able make full use of him. just need a guy with energy and scoring ability so we can actually get a competent player and solid rotation at the 3
yeah boozer had some nice hops back in the day actually, but thats probably never going to be the same. It's kinda scary how good rose can become in the next 3 years. even tho he struggled in the series vs the heat. I still believe he won the MVP straight up Lebron is the best player in the league, but what Rose did in the regular season was amazing. Rip will be a nice fit I wonder if the bulls might put a package for Howard like deng and noah and the next 2 year draft picks.
I like Derrick Williams and Irving I hope the cavs try to get greg oden as well if the blazers let him go. i know he's highly likely to miss a lot of games, but the rewards of having a healthy oden is so high. .probably sign him to a 2 year contract
I seriously dont understand what Rose did in the regular season that was amazing by any measure. He had a very good year but it wasn't standout or breath taking compared to any other All-Star player's year.

well it was either give it to D rose so the media would have a feel good story to tell, or give it to LBJ and have him get a three-peat. Media still paints lebron as the villain. but it'll change by the end of June when he shuts up all the haters..this year and for the next 7 years
So I've been looking over the draft class and I'm still not convinced that any of these players are going to be stars. It isn't impossible that it turns out like the 2009 draft: panned for a lack of depth and talent but turning out to be a spectacularly strong year. Still...I'm not a fan of Irving or Williams. I think Kemba Walker is just an awful pick anywhere in the lottery - how can you justify drafting a 6 footer who's only way to help you is to score? Am I missing something? He isn't an athletic marvel like Nate Robinson nor is he a basketball savant like Chris Paul.
I do like Brandon Knight though. Other guys to keep an eye on? Iman Shumpert sounds like some kind of Rudy Gay impersonator - 6'6'', 40 inch vert, 220 pounds at 6% body fat and strength. Kenneth Faried is intriguing - teams in the later rounds should enjoy a guy who hustles and rebounds - a lot of people buy into the truism that college rebounding "translates" into the NBA the best. Also the Morris brothers of Kansas are pretty solid and definitely worth lottery picks.
i think it would be fair to fine players who flop. Flopping is a direct attempt to deceive the officials of the game that are trying to maintain the rules of the game. Players should be focusing on following the rules and winning rather than winning via a manipulation of the rules. Soccer players get carded for flopping and referees are getting more strict against floppers, but basketball currently has no punishment at all for flopping.

Agreed though, I think James should get some sort of punishment for his exaggeration

The problem is that it doesn't matter what you do to punish him now. The game is over, he won.
