What? No way, he did Do the Right Thing, He Got Game and Malcolm X. He has a lot of films that aren't masterpieces but he does pretty good work. His messages do tend to be heavy handed and his artistic vision is a little urban, but yeah, sorry to derail.

Just because you make a film about a social issue does not make it a good film. There needs to be plot and character development. Forgetting about those things is what makes Avatar, Malcolm X, and most musicals terrible. Those movies get rave reviews because they are difficult to make, well anyone who watches Kobe Bryant will tell you that degree of difficulty != quality.

You're putting the cart before the horse with that argument. Malcolm X is about one of the most important black thinkers ever....and it's a good movie. If you don't like it, that's fine, your opinion is legit - it's just in the minority.
Shooting difficult shots doesn't uniquely make you good but it doesn't preclude you from being good. Larry Hughes, Gilbert Arenas and Nick Young all take difficult shots. They are different from Kobe Bryant, who also takes difficult shots.

that knicks-celtics game was a nailbiter. jarret jeffries in the clutch

Good Dirk came to play tonight. When he decides to get into the paint and muscle little guys he is nearly unstoppable. Dirk's worst enemy is himself; sometimes he just starts settling for 15-18 footers. He's great at that shot, but the threat of the outside shot is really what makes his inside game so dangerous, and its a lot more dangerous than that elbow shot no matter who you are.

sad how melo found losing fun.

Couldn't get a stream my bandwidth could handle very well, but what did Popovich do to neutralize Gasol/Randolph?
They both had 5 fouls, did he just attack them to keep them out of the game?

Spike Lee is one of the greatest American filmmakers ever wtf.
Lakers seem to have a lot of issues despite the win.

I think it was just poor fouls on their part. Randolph seemed very effective but did not receive the ball as much as he could have. Gasol was on the court a lot but does not seem more than an opportunistic scorer to me.
It was a great, close game. The Spurs were determined not to lose. The Grizzlies as a team played just about as well as they could have in my opinion. The only exception would be Tony Allen, who Manu flustered early in the game.
The thing that concerned me about the Spurs was that they were able to get penetration at will but never drove in for layups. For as many 3 point shots as they made, they should have had the game in hand easily.

poor pacers. they play so hard but just couldnt close the game. Im a bulls fan but i really feel bad for the pacers. they probably gonna lose by 1 in game 4. I know they had no expectations and all but to come so close in all games (game 1 seemed like a sure win for them) to only just get swept. must be really disappointing.

the bulls are playing like absolute crap, if they play this way i dont see them getting past Orlando/Atlanta and if they do and still play this badly they will not get past Boston/Miami
|
Miami 3 - 0! One more bby! Let's do this!

Despite being down 0-3, I am extremely proud of how my Pacers are playing. We are just too young right now. Granger is the only guy that we can rely on night in and night out right now. This experience will only make them hungry this off season to work hard and improve. Its like Larry Bird said about his first time in the playoffs. He realized he needed to do a lot of work in the off season to get better.

Roy is an absolute beast. Best player on the court right now. Shame he cant put in 40 mins.
|
Pacers could have won all 3 of those games. Bulls are looking shaky but so are the other top seeds bar Miami.
|
Roy is grinding his teeth bearing his pain on the knees laying his career on the line for this shit right now. they better win this one

In all likelihood they're not going to come back to win this, but a strong performance is something to build on for next season.
