That hurts to watch. That kid is so horrible, it's annoying as hell to listen too. Typical terrible gamer that reduces the difficulty of every game ever made, because they want to complete everything, and that's the type of audience every gamer industry cater too. Certainly doesn't seem like he's playing on hard difficulty either, he's just terrible.
Has anyone had the experience of getting shot by guards whenever attempting to re-enter Flotsam? They just say "Kill the bastard", shoot me up with arrows, and I get the game over screen. I did fight some guards and have to pay 200 orens to avoid being executed but that was like 5-6 gameplay hours ago, and I've left/re-entered town 10-15 times since then without any issues.
I really hope there is a way around this and that I don't have to re-do all of Act I...haha.
edit: actually it is also happening when I re-enter the little town outside of Flotsam.
The visuals of this game are very beautiful and the music is also amazing, I'm watching a streamer play it and am very impressed with this game. I hope someone puts up the music for it on grooveshark cause its just that good I'd listen to it while playing SC lol!

you have to sheathe your weapon when entering towns (its on 0 default in my config)
My sword is sheathed. I get an instantaneous cutscene where I am executed by a flurry of arrows whenever I re-enter town. It's not a fight where my life bar goes down to 0, it's a cutscene where I am executed while some fatass screams "Kill the bastard!"

Yeah Teogoff is great, I saw most of his series on Dragon Age 2, It was alot of fun to watch. He takes his games VERY seriously.

Yes, I can confirm that if you're a sucker like me and bought a retail, non steam or gog version of the game, removing the DRM makes a HUGE difference. It's definitely illegal though. I really hope this gets removed in a patch.
Anyone finish the game on Insane yet? I've been trying like the dickens to complete it but the furthest I've ever gotten was to the Kayran where I died in like 1 second. I'm so pissed right now
Oh btw, there is a 'weightless' mod out there which reduces the weight of all items in the game to 0. I was so annoyed with the inventory management in my first playthrough, I decided to use it.
I'm loving the game thoroughly, but I can understand just about any level of frustration people experience during the prologue. The game really fails to give the user a smooth transition into the game. Sure they have dialog boxes pop up explaining things, but they are in small text off to the side of the screen in the middle of serious action. It took me until the end of the prologue to realize parry required vigor, which left me feeling like the game had terrible input recognition for the first bits as I attempted to parry with no meter. All the information you need to learn how the game works exists, it's just delivered in a poor manner compared to most of today's games. Pausing the action and reading your journal is not hard to do, just not in line with expectations most people have about receiving tutorial information.
Anyways, anyone who gives up during the prologue is making a huge mistake. Once you get a handle on the systems the game characters and story are quite good. I really like a lot of the dialog, the fantasy lexicon is quite nice. I own W1 cause I bought it with amazon credit, but never played it. This game really makes me want to play it, I just don't know if I can go from W2 to W1 with such a stark difference in visuals.

As someone who has played through TW1 many times since it's release a few years ago, i would say don't go back and play it. it's certainly a great game with a fantastic story. But the visuals, the audio and especially the overall game mechanics will leave you very disappointed. If you'd really like to know what happened in the first game i suggest a plot synopsis. The 50+ hour game just isn't worth it after you've played TW2.

when i first realized that the spells in the game didnt even have any description of what they do i knew they werent gonna spoon feed us
There is a tutorial popup window for each sign the first time you use it.
Also, Downside, you should give the Witcher 1 a try only if you have the extended edition or are able to download the free patch to the extended edition, and are not particularly bothered by older graphics.

You can craft Caerme at one of the vendors in chapter 3. It had 50-58 dmg + 2 slots for Ysgith rune for additional dmg <3. The Caerme pattern you can get from the 3 gargoyle puzzle chambers.
I did the first gargoyle room puzzle thing just fine, but then I got to the second one and I couldn't get the fucking chest open. I went through and tried EVERY fucking combination and it still wouldn't open, I spent like 40 minutes in that room. Wtf?
Also, I was with Iorveth and I couldn't go near any Temerians, they just attacked me on sight.
