Are they any good over a more regular (say steel with enchant) weapon?
Also, can you create your own soul gems (empty) in any way?

Basically, can you make anything work if you try hard enough, or would something like what I'm suggesting be just laughably bad, and unable to get past anything. The difficulty setting is changeable at all times, so as long as you adjust it to the power level of your character you can play garbage builds or opti builds and still get an adequate amount of challenge from the game.

Play how you want to play and go from there

I mean you get at least one meatshield to carry with you at all times. Dude, the armor perk in Alteration makes you as good as invulnerable. Have fun liberating Skyrim in your loincloth. You don't even need conjuration minions if you think they're annoying.

Since I got it last weekend all I did was play it, now I have to work and the only thing I can think about is how awesome would it be if I could play right now. ![]()

That doesn't look like a troll build at all... Seems like the regular glass cannon mage for me. A better build would obviously include health, but as long as you allow conjurations to tank for you, there is no reason it couldn't work. A troll build would be something like a 2handed weapon mage, or a full crafting character, but the issue is that as long as you actually fight with a weapon, you level the respective skill. Sure you end up gimped because of the lack of perks, but it isn't really the same as in games with restrictive class systems. In the end, almost any build you can think of that includes combat skills should work, specially if you don't need to play on the higher difficulties.

Since starting the Thieve's Guild quests, all I want to do is sneak/backstab/steal/lockpick/pickpocket lol. I'm Level 28 now and have played as Heavy Armor + 1h + Shield up to about Level 20 which is when I started the thieves questline. Is it feasible to just "switch" into being a light armor/stealth character at this point or will I be ridiculously weak when it comes to the "end-game" dungeons/dragons and such? Note: I already have 75 skill into one-handed weapons and 60 into Lockpicking, but my Sneak and Light Armor are rather lacking. Not sure what to do, I can't see me rerolling a brand new character since i've put 50 hours into this and I don't feel like repeating the exact same quests all over again :/

You can do up to Masters level locks with absolutely no points no problem if you have a bit of practice. It's really not that hard. I use ~3 picks per master lock, sure, but it's better than burning 5 or 6 perks into a tree pointlessly. Quick question: How on earth do you solve master locks?! I ended up using at least 30 per lock! Patience Lightly tap A and D as you move the pin. You should really only have to see the lockpick quiver once, VERY slightly before you move on. It needs to be EXTREMELY precise at the Master Level. Once you begin to find the area where it turns, you need to start lightly tapping. Move it, then stop. Move more, then stop. Basically turn it slightly, and a bit more (like a quarter of a second longer) every time until you find the precise spot.

A full crafting character is the best, you can use each crafting skill to power up the other ones to power up the other ones even more and continue in a cycle of ever-increasing armor rating and weapon damage and enchant values and poison and potion potency.

I am lvl 18 rogue. Sneak is awesome and very smooth in this game, plus with dual savagery making 2x dagger attacks +50% dmg, and sneak attack x15 dmg with daggers, plus using enchanting, i am already doing a ton of damage, I have sneak around 50 right now, but can't wait for 70 to get the shadow warrior perk, sounds awesome to be able to hide in plain sight in front of someone.
