yeah they got vince carter (saaadface) but they're still the best coached of the top teams, deeper than miami and much younger than boston i dont see miami being able to beat boston this year in the playoffs since they'll have to do it through jumpshots and thats not likely to work, feels like they got a better chance with orlando beating celtics then miami beating orlando anyways magic should be very legit again this season, also very under the radar atm

Miami looked better last night. They will lose to ORL friday night I believe though. I don't think Miami will compete with the top teams until mid-season. They don't have the chemistry yet.

I don't call that roasted. That's 10-4 total record in the playoffs. They also waited for 8 days for the boston series to be over and were clearly rusty in game 1/2. Even if nobody improved on the roster the Magic still are more of a threat then almost every other team listed besides Miami/Boston/LA, or you just don't know basketball. Howard has added a jumpshot, and improved post play. Vince has trimmed up and lost about 15 pounds of extra skin. Magic also added a few role players that I think will be huge. Edit: They were also in the finals 2 years ago.

I think what he said holds weight, Dwight getting a jumpshot, picking up Quentin for a three to post up with (i hope) and Duhon to add even further depth to their PG position. As well as having tons of bigs, Andersen, able to stretch the floor, Bass, banger, Gortat, Poland Hammer, Rashard able to stretch the floor as well. I dont see how the Heat will be able to matchup against this, of course the Lakers, and Celtics wont have a problem. You know who has trouble guarding, and getting past dwight howard? everyone in the league...potential MVP candidate.

The Magic can win any game they play and thus any series. As always it will come down to their 3-pt shooting. If they get hot in a playoff series they can definitely win.

Hoping to see Rose keep pushing this season, as a long time Bulls fan I'm hoping he'll become the next big thing in the NBA! Love that guy! Will also be keeping my eyes on John Wall, the fuss around that man is so insane, and I'm hoping he can live up to the expectations!

In the Finals 2 years ago, and in last year's playoffs against Boston the Magic were literally swept. They got dominated in just about every game because Boston and LA have guys big enough and skilled enough to guard Dwight Howard 1 on 1. They throw bodies at him, draw fouls and watch the devastating consequences. So now it's up to the rest of the team to beat you with 3 point shooting and sadly for Orlando, Boston and LA do a great job of chasing guys off the line. So now it's down to Jameer Nelson (terrible), Vince Carter(still has it in spurts) or Rashard Lewis(terrible matchup against Garnett/Gasol) to beat you. Add in the fact that in those years Dwight Howard's offense was still raw and you got the Magic getting annihilated badly by both those teams. Now the question is did the Magic get better? I don't know how well Dwight has taken in all that he has learned from Hakeem. I'm not jumping on the "he has a jumpshot and post moves now!" bandwagon until I see it. I think even with all of that teams like Boston and LA would just foul him anyway and make Orlando pay. Chris Duhon and Ryan Anderson are garbage. Really Orlando's strength is Pietrus and Reddick because both of those guys play good defense and are serviceable. Other than that the real question is has Jameer Nelson gotten better to the point that he can stop Rondo from destroying Orlando in a series? Has Rashard Lewis gotten better to the point that Pau Gasol doesn't just do whatever he feels like on the court? I think Orlando can beat Miami as of this point. But from what I've seen of them the last 2 years they are TERRIBLE against LA and Boston. 2 years ago they should have honestly massacred a Boston team with no Kevin Garnett. It went to Game 7 which didn't look good for Orlando.

All this talk about the Magic reminds me of the Knicks in the 90s; not (necessarily) in terms of personnel but situation (although D12 came into the league much earlier than Ewing). Turner looked solid coming off the bench along with the cross-up of Wade (not as brutal as Iverson's but still good). Cousins I would say pretty good, he's got (not so) surprisingly good passing ability. A rebound short of a double-double, I would say his conditioning/stamina needs to improve though. Didn't get to see John Wall, but his stat line is pretty typical of his time at UK.
