First time back in the NBA thread in a while and the last 20 posts ends with that shitfest.
Get it by your hands...

I'm loving Blake and think he's got great potential, but he has a lot of room to improve on defense. He not only gets lost and makes incorrect/late rotations, but sometimes the effort doesn't seem to be there either. The fact that Del Negro doesn't seem to get on him for such oversights makes me suspect that they're okay with him slacking on defense a bit while focusing on being a dominant offensive presence.

That's also one of the reasons I fear for the Clippers if they eventually make the playoffs (next year). Even with all that talent I just don't see them serious enough about defense to have a shot at getting out of Round 1. Also I never trust Baron Davis in critical moments - especially against quality teams.

Well, they have actually been defending pretty well as a team, at least during their recent run. My concerns all around for them in the postseason is their inexperience and youth, which would affect their game from top to bottom. Doesn't help that they have Del Negro as a coach, who runs just about the worst offense ever and makes it so hard for them to score.

Baron was pretty good as a closer back when he was on the Warriors and they were taking down the Mavs, but that was a while ago and we've yet to see if he can rediscover it. Fortunately, they have Gordon who has been pretty good at closing.

Griffin has inspired Davis to actually start trying hard again that is the main thing. Davis now actually plays motivated and knows his main job in that offense is to pass it to those guys, not be a main scorer himself.

Griffin has some work to do on defensive side yes, but it is not for lack of effort. That kid works harder than almost anyone in the NBA and hates losing. With Del Negro's emphasis on defense I know he will get better. Del Negro even says to give him time since he can't learn everything in his first 40 games, but he will bring everything in slowly.

Gordon on the other hand should be up there with Kevin Love for most improved player of the year. He can put up 30 easily and has always had a nice stroke. He has added some muscle/weight since he came into the league and is able to drive in stronger now. Great player, plus it has helped defenses are so worried about Griffin when he drives in.

Why even respond to that shit post. The words "Baron Davis was once the best Point Guard in the game" tells you what kind of fandom/troll you're dealing with here

Why would it fandom/troll? lol its a Fact that 3-4 years ago he was the best pg in the game. All I'm saying is Baron Davis has all the talent you want in a PG he's a smart basketball player, but to me he doesn't play hard every game / every play. The Clippers have a two very good young players BG/Gordon if Baron starts playing like he can the Clippers will make the playoffs.

By All-Star I'm not talking numbers. I'm talking straight up who's so talented and good that they deserve to be acknowledged as belonging in a game with the very best in the NBA.

Your assertion that Andrew Bynum is beastly isn't supported by any fact that I have seen. His entire career has been built on what if's and unfortunately that doesn't hold in real life. He's a good role player and that's about it.

If Andrew Bynum is as beastly as you say where are his multiple All-NBA First and Second team selections? Rebounding titles? Blocking titles? All-NBA Defensive Team? Defensive Player of The Year?

He has none. He's good at what he does but not beastly.

He was beastly enough to completely shut down Dwight Howard in the finals lol do you even watch basketball? or you just look at the stats and awards and assume that they aren't good?

Christ, learn to edit your posts and make them not a giant block of text with punctuations besides question marks.

Blake is talented for sure, but Gordon is definitely making that team run more than Blake is this year. People like to overlook the fact that Gordon was injured last year for the Clippers for not an insignificant amount of time.

it's not only Gordon.. I mean really how can you even say something like that

Last 10 games 27.2 PPG 14.5 RPG

Clippers record 7-3

Once again Eric Gordon is really good, but it starts with Blake he has such a high Basketball IQ.

Enough with this "he's talented" he isn't talented he's the truth. Of course he has areas to improve in,

but who doesn't.

Bynum did ok, but he got in foul trouble pretty quickly. The real reason they shut down Howard was they threw so many big men at Howard that they their core (Gasol/Odom) could usually play when it mattered, and Howard couldn't make enough free throws to punish them for it.

Most Howard possessions, the entire Lakers team would just swarm the guy, and they were so long he couldn't pass out.

I'm sorry but the bias in this thread is sickening. Andrew Bynum is not better than Bogut, Chandler, Okafur, Noah...ok I'm just gonna stop. Anyone even thinking Bynum belongs in the conversation with these guys is insane.

He does belong in that conversation wanna know why? because he has helped his team to win 2 NBA titles.

Pippen was considered the 2nd best player in the NBA when he played with the Bulls why? DUH DUH

they won 6 NBA titles was he really the 2nd best player in the NBA? umm No? Malone? Shaq?

Penny? oh wait you probably talking about the numberous amount of titles that those 4 have won?

That come out to a flabbergasting of 0 come on get real. Did you watch how the Magic just

worked the Cavs in eastern conference finals with Dwight Howard looking like the next great offensive

big man. then what happen when he went up against Bynum did he ever score over 20 in that series?

Bynum might not be better then Bogut, but how do you measure Bogut success that you can't even

mention Bynum's name to a player like Bogut? A player who has never averaged more then 16

PPG in his career basically being the guy of the team since he's 2nd year. it's not about numbers

even tho Bynum has actual better numbers for the minutes they both play and being the 4th option

you funny man i honestly think you just go by numbers.

Stop making ridiculous statements that Bogut is so much better then Bynum cause he doesn't score 20 a night as the 4th option on a championship team behind Kobe, Pau, and Lamar then I will

I'm not even a Lakers fan

iDominate I agree with you most things about Bynum, but I learned to let it go a few pages back. Seems like Ace and some other people on here just like to say its "bias" when they can't find any ways to backup their arguments/opinions... or maybe they really do think that, and then it just shows how bad their understanding of basketball is, so just let it go man.

edit: )no offense to others)... I am not a Bynum fan in either way man, I just love basketball and don't just look at stats either so I feel ya.

I'm pretty sure my understanding of basketball is pretty high seeing as not only do I play basketball and bet on games but I've been posting in these threads for 3 years now.

In what world is Bynum better than Bogut? Defensively he isn't close and offensively he's got a shot at being better but not as consistent. Stop spouting nonsense.

LoL well that settles it!

I don't want to argue about this, my point a few pages ago was that Bynum just has better overall skills and much more potential considering his age. Bogut is a great player I know that

Eric Gordon out 3-4 weeks with a chipped bone. I guess this is good news for Blake Griffin since he is the offense now.

To be an elite point guard you have to be dominant in something, and so far Rondo blows Rose out of the water:

Assists/Passing: CP3, Rondo, D-Will, Kidd, Nash (Westbrook is getting close)
Scoring: CP3, D-Will, Westbrook, Rose
Defense: Rondo, CP3
Rebounding: CP3, Rondo, Kidd, Rose, Westbrook
Game Management: Almost all of them but Rose hasn't hit this point yet, and Westbrook is getting very close

As of now, Rondo is a dominant point guard in everything but scoring. He's pretty much the consensus best player on his team since the 2008-2009 season and just absolutely destroys opposing point guards.

Rose is a great scorer and a good passer. His defense is lacking but that'll improve under Thibs. But he can't be called top tier when he isn't dominant in anything or even close to being top tier in more than one category you'd expect an elite point guard to dominate.

Looks like this guy made a fool of himself
