This made me lol quite a lot and i hope you're not serious because if you are i will lol a lot harder Have you been following the NBA? The Lakers have been crumbling, OKC surging w/ Perkins, and the Spurs are certainly beatable. Nothing crazy about that prediction. I don't even know where to begin with this stupid statement.... There is no way OKC is going to beat the spurs when the spurs will get more days rest after beating the hornets 4-0 or 4-1, OKC will most likely go 4-2 or 4-3 against denver. Those days rest is whats going to count. Plus the spurs are better PERIOD. IF OKC some how pull that off, they wont get past the Lakers, because lets face it, getting past the lakers in the playoffs is a fantasy for OKC, LAL have way to much experience in playoff mode, OKC is going to crumble because of 2 reasons, 1) they are not better than either of these teams, hell they're barely better than denver and 2) they are inexperienced and will not be able to handle the pressure of LAL and SAS. OKC winning isn't a stupid statement at all. The Lakers aren't playing great right now. OKC has been doing rather well with Perkins. Plus LA might be without Bynum. He most likely won't be at 100% and that is going to hurt LA a lot in the playoffs. The Spurs are a great team, but they are old. They need those extra days off way more than a young team like OKC does. OKC is a very talented team that will win titles soon. I don't really think its this year, but all the talent is already there. Don't forget they beat the Lakers twice in the playoffs last year. And that Laker team was better than this years. And this OKC team is better than last years. They are an incredibly talented team that can win against any team in this league. In no way is it a stupid statement. Did this guy read my post? Just because the lakers lose 5 games that means they're terrible now? i hate the lakers with a passion but to say that is sooooo dumb. Perkins is my favourite centre in the entire league and has been the past 2 years, but he is not better than gasol, Spurs are a better team than OKC and the spurs will have more time off to rest and that right there is the key, even if they didnt rest they would still win, they will take the series like 4-1 MAYBE 4-2 please re read my post, i dont like repeating myself.
Did this guy read my post?
I never said the Lakers were terrible. I said they weren't playing great right now, losing 5 in a row kinda means that dude. I also never said OKC would beat LA or SA. I just said that it is a good possibility they could. I can easily see a series between those teams going 7 games. If OKC and LA went 6 last year, why can't it go 7 in favor of OKC this year when they are better than last year and LA is worse than last year.
I like SA and they would be the favorites in the series, but it is not stupid or crazy to think OKC can win the series. OKC is an extremely talented team. Saying it will be an easy series for SA is dumb, anyone who knows basketball will tell you this.
All I was saying is that saying OKC can beat LA and SA isn't as stupid of a statement as you made it out to be. Please read my posts correctly as I really don't like having to explain things twice.

No bullshit guys. Lakers vs. Knicks in the finals with Lakers taking it all.
Yea so what Bynum is out. He only played less then half of the playoffs the last two years that the Lakers have fun. Odom will take over and help out and Bynum will be in later on.
Knicks. Remember when the Heat first got together they were shit at the start? That's what was going on with the Knicks a few weeks back. Now they are 7-1 and taking off just like the Heat.
I'm calling this one...

I just want to finally see a Lebron vs Kobe Finals man
|
it's already happened...or did you forget they got swept.
Bulls vs. whoever comes out the West (my head wants to say the Lake Show, but my heart says OKC). my predictions will come when the dust settles in the West.
|
And just think about it. Before Lebron James entered into the league Kobe was being compared to Michael Jordan. Since James has joined the league, now he gets compared more than Kobe.
This is Kobe's last opportunity to be compared to Jordan. He will have just as many titles and in the same exact way. While James hasn't even gotten his first after being in the league for 6 years, and after the whole trade to Miami turned out.
There is no one Kobe is going to let this pass.
I'm calling this one.

IMHO, OKC is too young to do anything this year, but it'll be fun to watch their games. I cincerely hope for Dallas vs Portland, that will be an awesome series. If Bynum didn't injure himself last night, I'd bet the Lakers would take the West. Now, I won't touch that with a ten foot pole. Not the Lakers making it, but to ANYONE making it. It's brutal how the first 6 teams can take each other out with no problem.

MJ was the best player on his team for all 6 titles. Kobe was the best player on his team for only 2 of them so far.

And won't be if they win this year.

the $100k fine stern tossed at kobe for his remarks is fucking retarded and excessive. I've seen a player cuss/shout/etc every game profanities that you can CLEARLY read through their lips, even occasionally hearing it through the gameplay. Is stern going to throw out 100k fines to every player? What kind of precedence is he trying to set by this. it's friggen dumb. OH WAIT STERNS GONNA FINE ME NOW CUZ I USED RETARDED AND OFFENDED THE ENTIRE MENTALLY HANDICAPPED COMMUNITY.
I'm sorry, i meant to say it's dumb. OH CRAP I JUST OFFENDED THE MUTE COMMUNITY.
seriously Stern? seriously?

The dude up top that said the knicks will take off cause their 7-1 is hilarious. It's the end of the season.

Eh normally, I would say Stern is overdoing it...except this time he's about right. This isn't some 2nd tier star. This is the face of the NBA for all over the world. Not Lebron, not Wade, but Kobe is the FACE. You can't just let that slide or make it seem it's trivial, too much on the line for the NBA for some shitty PR fallout.
Cursing is fine by most cultures, but there are some things you just can't say in public when you are at that level of popularity.

but he didn't say it publicly, if the camera hadn't been on him, it wouldn't even be an issue, it was literaly reading his lips...

Stern always seems like he's overdoing it... but in the long run, he's gotten results and made basketball as popular and fan friendly as it is. Evidently he's a lot smarter and more media savvy than everyone else.
So he gets a free pass from angry internet freedom of speech rants like above.

im sure that "second word" was the real reason behind the fine. true, most of us use those words with no connection to homosexuals and we def dont mean to insult them while using it. but as said above ... on a stage like the nba and being a star like kobe, there's some things you just can't do or say,
