It is entirely possible to complete Act 2 or even Act 3 & 4 using only ilvl 62 gear (act 2 level). You wouldn't even notice a difference unless you were running a high end ilvl 63 weapon or offhand (admittedly this is pretty common, but it's definitely not required).
Take spears as an example. There are plenty of high end Vels on the Auction House. Do a search for level 60 rare spears with max buyout of 10mil. Sort by DPS and right there on the front page is an Act 2 Vel: + Show Spoiler +
This false sentiment seems to come out of the fact that you very rarely see personal item upgrades among your own drops. That you can easily trade with hundreds of thousands of people on the auction house makes up for this and is part of the game's design.

2. Sarkoth Gold and Rare Drop Decrease (Unknown %)
Clarifying for those like me who didn't recognize the name, Sarkoth is the quill fiend found in the Act 1 Dank Cellar and is a common farm target.

Will there ever be a ladder introduced to diablo 3?
I would love to start on a fresh economy once all the big 'exploits' are fixed.

okay Inferno Siegebreaker post-nerf as a melee is soooo slow >.>

Honestly I think the whole "ranged so ez, melee is underpowered" idea is greatly exaggerated, I have a Wizard that has cleared Inferno, and a Monk in mid Act III, and while I agree it's generally easier on my main, it's not that bad. The only things I really react to is heavy hitting ranged mobs, like Heralds of Pestilence for example, and melee-only bosses, like the Siegebreaker, those are soooo much easier and faster for a ranged class.
I love playing with both, so I don't mind farming more with my Wiz, I just don't like the idea of me not being given much of a choice here. I know that they're reducing the damage of mobs in A2+, and I really feel like it's needed in A3+ at least (A2 is okay), as you seriously need five times the investment in gear as a melee class to not die to the insane dps you're forced to tank.

Let's see, how much gold did you earn with your wizard, and what did you buy your monk? Post monk stats here.

Something I just learned: you can get multiple valor stacks for killing multiple elites in one hit. If you kill two elites in one hit, you get two stacks, three gives you three stacks, and so on. You have to finish the pack in that hit though.
If you have enough damage to do it, it should speed up farming runs a lot. I think I'll start taking spike traps on my siegebreaker runs. or maybe even fan of knives/cluster arrow. and exploding palm on my monk

Tyarel hotfix? Really? I'm pretty sure Tyarel was 2-3 shotting blood clan spearmen in Inferno A3. When did the hotfix kick in?

Just about 15-30 minutes ago
edit: ^ is on US servers, think it was put on EU yesterday.

And the act 3 meteor powerleveling spot was also nerfed, too.

Typical Blizzard solution, take something which is a problem (Tyrael soloing elites after player is dead) and "fix it" by nerfing it into the ground, instead of investing 10 minutes to think of a better solution (Tyrael stops fighting after player is dead).
Frankly that farm method should have been fixed 2 weeks ago, but not this way. Now Tyrael is a joke, and in some situations a hindrance (vampiric + anything that does damage). Great job there.

Just received 20k exp for Zultun Kulle on Hell. Guess it was more before? Dunno about the multiple quest exploit, but it got a hit anyway.
Bless Blizzard! Would like to have any notes though.
Edit: Confirmed by looking in the quest journal where it still says that the quest gives roughly 90k exp

How much does that gear cost?
Do you make that kind of money reliably from ilvl 61 drops?
Granted, I think progressing normally would have been possible if the exploits hadn't been in the game at all, but as the game stands now, the easy farm-ability of A3 and A4 necessitate farming those acts (or exploitable stuff in A2 like the Ancient Path Goblin) because they've crushed the economy on ilvl 61 gear (weapons in particular).

Pretty much. I cannot understand why they thought nerfing Tyrael to the ground was the best way to deal with this problem.

Hey guys, I've been wondering this for a while now. What will happen with the economy with the RMAH coming online soon. I've tried farming legitimately with 5 NV stacks (got some gear to sell on the AH, but mostly trash), I tried vase farming and bought GF gear (invested 500K got 5mil out of it), but the economy is batshit crazy. Even with all I made I can't really gear myself on the EU. everyday I see more and more ludicrous prices on items. Do you think the prices will drop sometime, or on the contrary, will they rise even higher, because there will be less stock on the gold AH because of people moving better items to the RMAH?
Should I invest what I have into gear now (before legendaries buffs)? or wait for the patch and the buffs? =(
The game is pretty fun, but with Blizz's approach to it (like the above poster said - nerf it into the ground instead of spending 10 minutes to think it over) I feel like going to back Starcraft, just because they won't fuck me over so hard there every hotfix and every patch.

(copied from LasH of readmore.de, thanks. although he probably also copied from somewhere :D) guess I'm done playing this game

anyone notice a fix on underbridge chest too? was doing a few siege runs today and literally was 0/8 for a chest when it spawned..could be bad luck ^^

0/8, although unlucky, is hardly statistically significant.

ehh never run into luck this bad on finding a chest here ;;

I think the ease of farming A3 and A4 actually helps players in A1, because a lot of the stuff that would be considered "junk" to a player in act 4 and sold for cheap is actually pretty useful to players in A1. Granted, it's hard to earn money when all of your stuff sells for peanuts, but I think any player can muster up 1M which should be enough to get you through A2 or at least fairly far (depending on skill). The key is to spend money wisely and not blow it on bad purchases, which admittedly can be hard to avoid unless you already know what you're doing.
