This seems similar to WoW, where it was possible to link items via their unique identifier. If an item had never dropped on the server you were on, the item details werent cached and clicking the item-link would disconnect you. It's a bit of a sloppy implementation. Not sure if WoW still has this 'feature', but it doesn't surprise me that a similar issue popped up in D3.

Not what is happening here though, the Diablo's Claw disconnects people because it has the code for 4 sockets and that doesn't exist = crash.

Anyways, the "normal" patch for me was only 10Mb to download, not 2.5-2.8g

well given your current stats a socketed helm alone gives over 4k hp, which is ~ 120 vit, so maybe drop a few of the stats down a little in your search and nab a helm with a socket for your +15% life

So during the reddit AMA, Jay Wilson said magic find works just like it did in D2. So since I didn't play D2 much, I want to confirm for my own benefit that a high MF rating results in potentially better items dropping, not more items dropping (since MF does not affect drop rates).

If this is the case it makes MF more useful imo.

if by better you mean more rares/legendarys yes. if by better you mean better stats then no.

First the game determines how many and what type of white items will drop, then it rolls on the change each of them is blue/rare/legendary/set, and MF increases this chance.

Luck was always the only factor in getting good rolls on stats. MF only helps you get more items to identify.

Anyone else got high MS on EU right now? I got about 350 and usually i have 50. I wouldnt mind usually but trying to kill SK on inferno HC... fuck lag

Out of curiosity, anyone know what did they do to fix multiplayer act hopping? I can't figure it out as my act hopping trick to power-level characters in act 3 still works fine.

When logging into Diablo III, the "Cancel" button which appears in the login checkbox will now be grayed out for 30 seconds after a Battle.net account name and password are entered. This is to reduce server load during the login process.

Soo, how's that working? I come from work and try play , oh no ! I cant login , fix your goddam servers , dont make me try 2-3 times before I lose my patience and dont play anymore? so I dont stress you precious little servers?
This is such a fucking great response , for me not be able to play this singleplayer game..

So MF increases the total amount of items with stats, but does it also increase the % of ilvl 63 items you find?

So e.g. naked you find 80 white 15 blue 5 rare, with 100% mf you find 60 white 30 blue 10 rare?
But regarding ilvl 63 items on inferno act 4; naked you have a 8% chance to get one, with 100% mf do you get a 16% to get one?

It's actually a good thing, if you weren't so busy wallowing in your self pity. Remember the first few days, when nobody could log in ever, and the latency was obscene? That was because people trying to log in were bogging blizz down by spamming it over and over. Is it annoying? Yes. Is it the better alternative? Yes. Do you actually expect Blizz to spend half the GDP of a third world country 6 months before announcing a launch date because their crystal ball told them how much infrastructure they would need for the first few months, only to have the hardware basically be wasted in less than half a year? Well, the answer to that one is probably yes too, given the way people are these days.
